In 2013, the American Wheelchair Mission has provided more than 1,000 wheelchairs, 412 pairs of crutches, 406 canes, and 200 walkers to needy recipients in Bulacan, Manila and Naga City on the Island of Luzon and Davao City on the Island of Mindanao. All of the wheelchairs and mobility aids were sponsored by the efforts of California Knights of Columbus, their local parishes, and by 2012-2013 California State Deputy Ray Warriner and his wife Purita, with their ‘Project Mobility for the Philippines.” This project raised funding for 560 of the wheelchairs and half of the mobility devices. “Wheelchair Sunday” parish drives at St. Joan of Arc in San Ramon, and other parishes around the state sponsored the rest of the mobility aids. Mother Joan Clare Chin Loy of the Compassionate Franciscan Sisters of the Poor is our primary distribution partner for Manila and her home base of Naga City, as well as Fr. Joel Tabora, President of the Ateneo de Davao University, assisted by Jeremy “Bong” Eliab who expertly coordinated our distribution efforts in Davao City.

In Bulacan, Bernardita “Bien” Mendoza and her family coordinated all of the distributions with the local parishes, hospitals, and social outreach for the poor. We could not do what we do without these valuable partners, who we owe our deepest gratitude. On the distribution trip in April and May that took us to four cities on two islands, Fr. John Neneman, California State Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus and brother Knight Fr. Gaylord Reyes joined us and participated in the distribution of the wheelchairs. We were invited to dinner by Bishop Mylo Vergara in Manila, and met with Archbishop Rolando Tirona in Naga City. They were both very interested in helping us further our mission in the Philippines. Mother Joan and her sisters operate the Queen of Peace Orphanage and Formation Center in Naga, as well as a community center, school and chapel in the dumpsite village in Naga. They operate a day care and feeding center for the children in the Malabon dumpsite near Manila, which has a population of 40,000.

“This experience in the Philippines opened my eyes to the true meaning of the word poor,” said Fr. John after our visit to the dumpsite near Manila, “We are changing lives with mobility, and answering prayers of entire families with the gift of these wheelchairs. We have to just keep doing it as much as we can.” The American Wheelchair Mission thanks the California Knights, their families and all of the parishioners who have supported our missions to the Philippines. You are allowing us to be tools in God’s hands doing his work on earth, and we will work harder to do even more. One of the highlights of our Davao vacation. The place is amazing. Lots of things to see. I suggest getting a guide at the front desk before entering so they can explain each area of the resort (plus they can take photos of you hehe). The staff are very friendly. The Chocolate Museum opens in March so that's one thing... Good place to chill. The cool breeze is such a turn-on, so relaxing.

Their butterfly sanctuary is kinda majestic. All in all, not a bad place for a day's getaway. Glad to know you enjoyed your getaway. Hope to see you more often at the resort! Thank you so much for your feedback 😊 Had the time of our life at the bird feeding area as flocks of birds fly to you to feed. In other aviaries, these birds can rarely be touched and in here, they themselves will come to you. Good experience for young & old alike :) We're happy to know you enjoyed our Bird-Feeding Dome. Were you able to try and interact with our other animals at our petting zoo? Or maybe a butterfly release at our Butterfly Dome? You should try our food as well. They're all homegrown and fresh from our backyard. Including our chocolates, cheeses, and vegetables! Our staff are glad... After visiting the Eden Nature park and Philippine Eagle Center why not visit another nature park. It was getting late when we visited but it was still worth it the place was well maintained but unfortunately no one was around to explain or tour us around. w

e just rely on what we read around the park. My daughter wanted to... We're so sorry to hear that. We will look into this immediately. Thank you so much for letting us know! We do try our best every day to cater to our guests' needs with the intention of giving them the full Malagos Garden Resort experience. Your feedback helps a lot. Hopefully you can come back so we can... If you love nature with the serenity of a sprawling complex of well maintained nature then this place is worth a visit for you might spend an entire day here. You do notice that years have been invested to carefully shape this place to where it is now. It is also home to an award winning Malagos Chocolate that can... Indeed it took years of hard work alongside the local community to give this place the attention it deserves. We really appreciate you noticing! It is an honor to make it to your Top 2 places in Davao! Hope you can come back and enjoy more of our chocolates. You should try our cheeses and vegetable salad from...

We visited this coming from The Eagle Center mainly to buy the Malagos chocolates and cheeses. It is a garden with lots of interesting activities but with pockets of quiet corners if one would just want to have some peace and quiet. Wf course, the chocolates are very very good, as well as the Blush cheese that I... We're very pleased to know that you find the peace and calm of the resort to your liking. We try to offer a place that people can go to retire and retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. We're also glad to know you find our chocolates and cheeses good. Have you tried our chocolate dessert... Soooo expensive, entrance fee, plus swimming, sky walking, kalesa ride uuggrrhh! Almost everything and dont have much animals to watch to. Not worth for a 100 peso tour Thank you so much for giving us your feedback! We're sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your visit. But just a thought, maybe you weren't able to roam the entire resort? Our P100 peso rate already includes access to our Science In The Park tour which includes our interactive indoor and outdoor museums and exhibits aside...

This is a spacious resort with cottages with ethnic motif, trees, plants, restaurant with ingeniously prepared food, and happy birds perched on handler's shoulders as part of the Welcoming Committee to arriving guests. The resort owners are also into conservation of different bird species and upgrading of their cafe's menu from native goat cheese and tropical fruit wine. T Thank you so much for your positive feedback. Us in the entire resort, including Midori and Toby (our welcome birds) are glad to be of service to you as well. Hope you can come back! : The place is huge with lots of fun activities for people of all ages. Everything going we ordered for lunch in their restaurant/cafe tasted really good. We ordered lechon kawali, twice-cooked adobo, pinakbet, pork binagoongan. The chocolate freeze and the desserts, chocolate panna cota & chocolate molten lava, were to die for. They have their own chocolate farm/ factory &... I'll make sure to let our kitchen staff know that you find the food they prepared beyond satisfactory. I
