Go Go Power Rangers! Fans will love creating their own adventures with the all-new Power Rangers action figures, role-play costumes and Zord Builders. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi, New Delhi, about 15 minutes’ drive (traffic permitting). Gurgaon is a modern satellite town south of Delhi, and full of offices, malls, restaurants and large hotels.  Central Delhi is a half-hour Metro trip (the nearest station is a few minute’s walk); it’s an hour-and-a-half by car. The Trident Gurgaon, the Oberoi’s sister hotel, is next door, so you can use its facilities as well. Shimmeringly grand and elegant; the Oberoi has the kind of glamour usually seen at awards ceremonies or in perfume ads. Most people are staying here on business, but there’s a sense that you’re at leisure. Vast, contemporary flower arrangements, chrome, glass and marble, are complemented by furnishings of that mix pale serene and earthy colours with accents of rich red. An in-house Gucci store sets the tone.

There are myriad staff, all of whom greet you as you pass, from the cleaners to the concierge. They’re attentive without being annoying. All guests have 24-hour butler service (trained by the UK Guild of English Butlers – who knew!?). There’s also a 24-hour spa and gym, and yoga and fitness classes. The outdoor pool is an Olympic-sized 55 metres. Chauffeur service is via the fleet of BMWs. Rooms are all flooded by natural light through huge plate-glass windows. The smallest are the deluxe rooms at 58 square metres, which overlook the concrete towers of Gurgaon, and are furnished in natural tones, with modern artworks on the walls. All rooms have king-sized beds, a freestanding bath and separate rainfall shower. Luxury rooms are the same size, but overlook the hotel gardens. Suites are larger still, with sofas in the sitting areas and more vast windows, this time overlooking the swimming pool or the centrepiece reflection pool, which is lit by flaming torches at night. We offer a price guarantee on every hotel booking

Your passport to a better trip Creative Indian restaurant Amaranta serves classic dishes presented in different ways. The innovative chef, Tejas Sovani, works with a team of six expert regional chefs. Fresh fish is flown in from the coast daily. The tasting menu is a conceptual journey, with nine courses and wine pairing. Threesixone° has views out over the swimming pool and living wall through chrome and glass and five open kitchens showing off the Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Indian food preparation. There’s also a patisserie, and masculine-chic cigar lounge and piano bar with more views over the green wall and deep-blue pool. A double costs from 17,850 Indian Rupees (£210) to 38,080 Indian Rupees (£449). For this level of comfort and wealth of facilities, as well as superb gastronomy, this is excellent value, at least at the lower end of the price range. The location is good if you’re doing business in Gurgaon. Breakfast is included, but Wi-Fi is not (there’s only 30 minutes free per day).

Access for guests with disabilities? There are disabled access rooms. This feels more for business than for families, but would work as there’s plenty of space, a warm welcome, and a children’s swimming pool. Carnival: Ansal Plaza Gurgaon DT City Centre Gurgaon DT Star Mall Gurgaon SRS Cinemas Celebration Mall Gurgaon SRS Cinemas Omaxe Mall Gurgaon Bollywood stars at the MMA league Final Shah Rukh Khan recieves the 4th Yash Chopra Memorial award by Rekha Want to list your Theater & Showtimes here?As many as 22 pubs, restaurants and bars have been shut in the Millennium City — Gurgaon — following the recent sharp enhancement in monthly charges and excise rates that have gone up to 30 to 35 percent for this financial year in Haryana. There are 270 bar licence holders in the city while 22 of them, including some prominent pubs such as Rhino, Buzz, Media Café and Youngo in South Point Mall situated on Golf Course Road besides Addiction, Zigo, Moti Mahal Restaurant and Bar, Bauji ka Dhaba in MGF Metropolitan Mall have surrendered their licences with the Excise Department.

All these were struggling to earn monthly profit to be able to run their commercial operation. Besides, booze operators are feeling the pinch of VAT and service taxes in the state. As many as 22 pubs, restaurants and bars have been shut in the Millennium City following the recent sharp enhancement in monthly charges and excise rates that have gone up to 30 to 35 per centMany of them are of the opinion that 50 per cent of them will have to shut their shop in the next six months if the state government does not give them relaxation.“We had been paying Rs 6 lakh par month to run commercial operation in the last financial year with permissible time limit up to 1am. This time limit is insufficient to earn profit considering the fact that our other expenses were already on the higher side. The Excise Department has hiked monthly rent to Rs 12.5 lakh per month now. "This is unacceptable and unimaginable, especially when we are already competing hard with neighbouring city Delhi, which has a lesser excise rate,” said Satya Singh, owner of Lucia pub in the Metropolitan Mall.

He said: “It would be double headache for us, as we have to pay higher monthly rent and buy products at costlier rates. "Suppose a bottle of beer is available in Delhi for Rs 300, then why will someone come to Gurgaon to buy the same for Rs 700?”He added: “As a result, many pub owners are hardly earning Rs 25,000 in a day and such an amount is insufficient to run a commercial venture in Gurgaon. "The sale figure of my pub Lucia was registered at Rs 750 on Wednesday.” Haryana government also has dual excise policy. On the one hand, it has been providing round-the-clock bar licence to four and five star hotels while normal pubs and bars are getting just few hours in night. “The association of pubs and bars in Gurgaon is agreeing to pay Rs 25 lakh to get 24-hour bar licence but department is has refused to agree,” said Gulshan Manchanda, an employee of Last Chance Pub situated in Sahara Mall. When contacted, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner Aruna Singh down played everything, saying that it could not be the only reason behind shutting down pubs in Gurgaon.
