My daughter is an exuberant, active toddler who could not be constrained to her regular highchair. When I moved into my house with my husband, I brought with me the highchair that my parents had bought for me. Although a great highchair that lasted through three babies, a lack of straps meant that my daughter could easily stand up during meals and scare me half to death. Thus, when I saw a review of the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair from Everything Mommyhood, I contacted Keekaroo about reviewing a chair of my own. I received a Keekaroo Height Right High Chair in natural finish with an infant insert in chocolate (dark brown) and a tray plus tray cover from Keekaroo to review. Keekaroo also offers a darker mahogany finish as well as seven total infant insert colors (cherry, lilac, lime, aqua, chocolate, latte, pumpkin). The specifications of the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair + Infant Insert + Tray + Tray Cover are as follows: The Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is test certified to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard F 404-07, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for High Chairs.

The innovative highchair comes with a five-year warranty. Best of all, the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is made in the USA! My first tip for assembling the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is to read all the instructions in the assembly manual first before taking any action. My husband and I foolishly decided to jump right in and take the instructions step by step. Although the instructions are written very clearly, not reading through the booklet first meant we had to undo some of our work to put the infant seat and try on the rest of the chair. The default instructions in the manual are for the highchair without the additional seat. We could have saved ourselves a little time and a lot of frustration by reading through all the directions before starting. The Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is an adjustable chair perfect for babies from six months old through adults up to 250 pounds. Unlike a traditional highchair, the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair grows with the child through infancy into toddlerhood, childhood, and even adulthood.

The Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is made with a plant-based lacquer finish. The safety belt and plastic tray cover are BPA-free. My daughter currently weighs about twenty-six pounds. At twenty-three months old, she is not quite an older toddler. When my husband and I first assembled the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair, I allowed her to sit in the chair without the tray or infant seat. She could comfortably sit with her feet on the footrest. I particularly liked the safety straps on the top seat. My daughter likes to stand up in our regular highchair. The safety straps will prevent her from standing up at the dinner table! After letting my daughter try out the chair, my husband and I then added the latex infant seat and tray to the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair. The infant seat features a water resistant protective layer that cleans up easily. Designed for hospitals, the material is also crack and puncture resistant, which is definitely necessary for an active baby. The design of the infant seat also promotes proper hip posture.

Even at twenty-six pounds, my toddler daughter still comfortably fits in the infant seat with the tray attached to the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair. In fact, she really seems to like sitting in her new “big girl” highchair. I particularly like that the infant seat provides an added safety feature: She really can no longer stand up in her highchair at meals. Until she outgrows the infant seat, my husband and I have decided to continue using the feature with her. Getting my daughter in and out of the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is super easy. When using the tray, simply release the levels on both sides of the chair to remove the tray. Place the baby in the infant seat or on the chair. After buckling the baby in with the three-point safety belt, replace the tray. I get my daughter in and out of her new Keekaroo Height Right High Chair without having to worry about her standing up on her and falling out. And, even though adult supervision is always recommended, I feel a little safer turning my back on my daughter for just a few seconds now that she sits in her Keekaroo Height Right High Chair.

Once my daughter is done with needing a highchair at meal time, the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair converts into a kids chair and then into a regular chair. The seat and footrest adjust in one-inch increments that allow the chair to grow with the child. Adjusting the chair is as simple as loosening the screws on the sides of the chair and then moving the seat and footrest up or down. Removing the infant seat and tray is also as easy as loosening some screws. Once I figured out how the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair worked, I felt confident that I could easily adjust the size as my daughter grew bigger. Cleaning the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair is also super easy. When my daughter spills food on the tray, I usually just wipe up the mess. For bigger messes, the plastic tray cover comes off for easier washing. The rest of the chair including the infant seat should be wiped clean with mild soap and water. Final Verdict: I absolutely love my new Keekaroo Height Right High Chair.

As much as I like the original highchair that my parents used with me and my brothers, a part of me wishes that I had gotten a Keekaroo for my daughter when she first started eating solids. Putting the chair together is super easy as is making adjustments as the child grows. I particularly love the safety straps, which prevent my daughter from standing up in her highchair. The infant seat and removable tray are invaluable features, especially for younger babies and toddlers who still make messes while eating. If you are looking for a new highchair for your child, I cannot recommend the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair enough! Update: Now that my infant son sits up, he prefers to sit in his Keekaroo Height Right High Chair at the kitchen table while the rest of the family eats meals. Because of the infant seat with straps, I feel confident about placing him in the high chair. He especially loves that he can sit with the family at the table in his own “big boy” chair. I also love that the high chair will continue to grow with him as he begins solids foods and eventually needs a larger chair.

I still highly recommend the Keekaroo Height Right High Chair, which I am now using with my second little one.
