Tuesday 24 January 2017, 04:03PM The recall was announced in a public notice issued today (Jan 24). “After washing the fabric seat it is possible to re-assemble the chair incorrectly leading to risks of falls or finger entrapments,” the notice read. “IKEA has received five incident reports in which MYSINGSÖ beach chair collapsed during use due to incorrect re-assembly. All five reports included injuries to fingers and required medical attention. The reported injuries happened in Finland, Germany, USA, Denmark and Australia,” it added. “Safe products are a top priority at IKEA and all our products shall comply with international and national legislation as well as relevant standards.

MYSINGSÖ beach chair has gone through relevant mechanical, fabric and chemical tests with approved result,” the release noted. The MYSINGSÖ beach chair can be returned to any IKEA store or Pick up and order point for a full refund. “According to the Revenue department of Thailand (tax office), a receipt number should be stated in the credit note when issuing a refund, so we would appreciate if you can present the receipt. “In case of no receipt, we will have to return in the form of an IKEA gift card. Thank you for your understanding,” the notice read. “IKEA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause,” it added. The Phuket News reminds readers that beach chairs are banned anywhere on Phuket beaches, a ban reinforced last week by provincial authorities who sunk an appeal by Patong Mayor Chalermluck Kebsup to allow them in at least a restricted area on Patong Beach. However, Phuket authorities have yet to make any attempt to ban beach chairs entirely from the island, leaving residents and tourists to enjoy reclining elsewhere.

Sylt’s major draw is its picturesque places: think thatch-roofed houses, sandy beaches and tidelands. For Hamburg-based Instagrammer Anja Sauer (@anja.sauer), Sylt is the perfect escape from the city. “Rough sea air, beach as far as the eye can see and wonderful variegated dune landscapes — there I find the width and the endless horizon I need to completely switch off.” Even though Sylt is a mere 38 square miles (99 square km), its offerings are diverse. One can tour the island by bicycle, surf off of Westerland’s Brandenburg Beach, visit a gallery opening in Kampen or simply relax in one of the iconic white and blue painted two-seater beach chairs that are scattered along the island’s beaches.

But the truth is that folding chairs come in many different types and designs. Read More about Buying the Right Folding Chairs for Your NeedsTogether with my colleague Janicke of Norske reiseblogger I went for a week of exploring Germany by bike. We startet off along the Baltic sea Coast. Drove our rental car 2 hours from Hamburg to Boltenhagen. As soon as we got of A1 we hit the German countryside. Meadows filled with ripe rapeseed makes it look almost like summer and we had to stop to capture the moment. Long tree avenues making it all rather picturesque and very countryside.

pretty much out of nowhere the ocean appears and we have arrived at ostesee and our hotel Iberotel Boltenhagen, read my review of this hotel later. Short time after check in we went for our e-bikes. The complex around Iberotel is very much like a resort but only a short bike ride and you find the beach promenade. And all around this promenade you find paths leading down to the long sandy beach and the typical beach chairs of northern Germany. It reminds me of childhood memories made not that far from here. Riding this e-bike along the flat paths of the beach promenade almost feel like cheating. It really is not necessary with the electric motor but it feels pretty good. The first two steps and you fly onwards. Our bike ride take us along the beach and we stop when we make it to the big pier. Turn back home to the hotel just in time for some dinner. A day on the roads makes us both hungry. And so far lunch has been non existent. I wake up early, want to take in the sunrise from this lovely location.

My room has a view to the harbour and even though I am a couple of minutes late I still get to enjoy the quiet sunrise. It is just me, my comfy bathrobe and the seagulls – perfection. We only have one day in Boltenhagen so it is onwards to explore. Firstly the hanseatic city of Wismar. We get our own personal guide who is very much interested in churches. Wismar is no big city approximately 40.000 but still has several churches. Big beautiful churches and we visit Church st. Georgen, perfect for a panoramic view over the city and it´s harbour. We make it up there by foot since the elevator is out of order. What a workout it is – leaving me pretty much out of breath both because of all its stairs but also because I have somewhat a little fare of heights.. trying to keep my calm and breath normally I make it to the top. And the reward is very much worth it. We end our tour of Wismar with a great fish snack from the dock. Back on the road we head for another Baltic sea resort city.

One hour´s drive from Wismar and we come to the riviera of Germany, Külungsborn. This small beach city reminds me somewhat of The Rimini coastline of Italy. Big villas and hotels along the beach and sandy white beaches that screams come play with me.. had it not been for the rain! We make it to our Hotel Polarn-Stern. Buildt a 100 years ago as a family home this hotel still has a lot of its history attached. It is a small but cozy hotel and right there on the beach. Again we get some E-bikes and head for the the oldest bath resort heiligendam where lunch awaits us at Gran Hotel. This ride is about 7 km and takes between 30 – 60 minutes. We stopped for a couple of photoshops along the way, it is a scenic route trough the forest and along the coastline. The province of Mecklenburg – Vorpommen is situated at the Baltic sea coast and this makes it perfect for biking through. It very much reminds me of home, especially along the coast line and because it is rather flat.
