Toys: Making & Decorating LEGO Heavy Weapons: Build Working Replicas of Four of the World's Most Impressive Guns From LEGO guns mastermind and 18 year-old YouTube sensation Jack Streat comes LEGO Heavy Weapons, a collection of complete building instructions for four truly impressive, 1:1-scale replicas of the world's most iconic firearms. LEGO Heavy Weapons will show you how to build brick-based models of: * A massive Desert Eagle handgun, with working blowback action * The compact but deadly AKS-74U assault rifle with folding stock * A bolt-action Lee Enfield sniper rifle (a.k.a. Jungle Carbine) * A pump action SPAS combat shotgun Each set of instructions includes a complete parts listing, so you can find (or special order) any hard-to-find bricks.

The book's illustrated, step-by-step building instructions will be clear to anyone who's ever played with LEGO bricks, and the biggest models will challenge and delight even the most serious builders.show more Since posting his first LEGO gun online at age 13, Jack Streat has played an influential role in the LEGO weapons builder community. In his spare time he modifies guitars in a never-ending quest to make them as loud as possible. Streat wrote this, his first book, when he was 18 years old.show more The cover is impressive and the models presented in this book are fantastic. However, if you are used following the tradition Lego instructions then forget it. These instructions are extremely difficult to follow and this is exacerbated by the colourless printing. Additionally, unless you have a massive amount of Lego elements to start with, you are unlikely to be able to make any of the models in the book. The mechanical intelligence of the author far exceeds my abilities to reproduced these models and although the models are cleverly designed, most people would struggle to make any of them.show more

However, that build was a bit too complicated for a tutorial as it contained around 700-pieces, some of which would be difficult to procure. So they opted for a smaller, more manageable design that you can build at home. See how it’s done in the video below. Besides being terribly chic, it’s apparently bulletproof. My nerdy solar powered backpack Ok, it’s not just solar powered. It’s also an anti-theft, waterproof marvel that keeps my phone’s power bar from ever getting into the red.Sure the idea seems obvious now – tuck a gigantic solar powered battery pack into an exposed slot and turn the wearer into a walking energy harvester.  Simple maybe, but I didn’t […]

The office I work in is full of things old people buy to make themselves feel young again.  I can honestly say that our awesome new toy, The Swagtron T3 Hoverboard, makes me feel very, very old. I’ll explain why later. Swagtron T3 Pros There’s no way to overcharge the battery and that means no […] A WiFi camera that makes home and office security a bargain Convenience stores and gas stations are not the only places that utilize security cameras. Security in the digital age has extended more and more to individuals, and the iON the Home HD WiFi camera is a budget-friendly option that can help you monitor your home or office for security purposes, or just to keep an […] Bluetooth 4.1 wireless headphones with crisp, clear sound Wireless headphones aren’t a mind-bending thing anymore now that Apple made them the standard thing-to-be-outraged-over-in-the-new-iPhone fare, thereby killing the cool factor. But let’s be reasonable here. Wires really are a pain when you’re running, trying to get off the bus, or even just standing up from your desk.
