I choose Nature Made most often for my vitamins because I trust the quality and purity of brand, and its USP verified (see below for more information on USP verification).I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO BUY THIS FORMULA:Vitamin E comes in synthetic form (dl-Alpha, man made) and natural form. THIS product is the synthetic form, full name: dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate. I purchased it by mistake, I wasted my money and will need to purchase another bottle, d-Alpha Tocopherol, to replace this bottle. For more information about the difference between synthetic and natural vitamin E, see below.I take NATURAL Vitamin E (not this product) for many reason, one being that it's proven to be beneficial for a woman's breast health. Other widely accepted health benefits of NATURAL vitamin E are protection against toxins such as air pollution, premenstrual syndrome, eye disorders such as cataracts, neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, and diabetes.
Many also use it topically for skin health (although I highly recommend derma e Vitamin E Skin Oil 14,000 I.U., 2 Fluid Ounce for that purpose).NOTE BEFORE TAKING: Vitamin E is fat soluble, which means you must take it with a healthy fat (fresh cooked fish, wild salmon oil, or a healthy vegetable oil) in order for your body to properly absorb it. you should also read the label to make sure it is safe for you to take.SYNTHETIC vs. NATURAL VITAMIN E:The difference between the synthetic form and the natural form of Vitamin E is easy to miss, possibly on purpose – the synthetic form has three words, the natural form has two words, the synthetic form starts with a dl in the first word and has a y at the end of the second word. The natural form of Vitamin E is d-Alpha (no letter L after the d) and has an o instead of a y in the second word. My doctors, and most who advocate using vitamin E for better health, recommend only the natural form (which this is NOT). And the manufacturer's label does not make that clear, strike two. I believe most people, when given the clear choice, would not choose synthetic vitamins. The ad does not make it clear that it's synthetic also, but I did not include that fact in my 3 star rating because I'm review the product, not the ad. If I were to take into consideration this ad's misleading product description, I'd give it one star.My complaint is that the Nature Made bottle doesn't make it clear it's the synthetic form, and neither does the ad here on Amazon. I believe it should be very loud and large on the front of the label. The statement saying it’s synthetic is on the label, but only in fine print on the back, which is not shown in this ad at the time I made my purchase. Yes, this ad dose show the ingredients as dl-Alpha and dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, but it does not say it’s synthetic and it does not show the part of the label that states it’s synthetic.
In this ad it’s up to the consumer to catch that, and know this. I find this to be misleading, possibly on purpose either by the seller, or Amazon. But this would be an issue for me even if I purchased it in a local store – it should be very clear on the front of the label that it’s a synthetic form of vitamin E.
