The Office of Rail and Road has released new figures which reveal how many passenger journeys each station in the country had throughout the 2015/16 financial year. Truro, the county's busiest, had more than 1.2 million passengers for the year. Yet, Coombe Junction Halt was busier this time than the year before, with only 24 passengers between 2014 and 2015. The first, second and third places in the list of the most deserted stations in the UK are taken by Shippea Hill in Cambridgeshire, Reddish South in Greater Manchester and Pilning in South Gloucestershire, while Waterloo in London was crowned the busiest station in Britain. It has almost 100 million people getting on or off at the terminus, which is the equivalent to three people per second.
