Dave Bautista Addresses Avengers Vs X-Men Rumors When it comes to silver screen adaptations of the Marvel mythos, one of the biggest issues that fans have come to lament is the issue of rights between studios. 20th Century Fox has access to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, while Marvel Studios has basically everything else. Are you hoping to see these two companies strike a deal so the X-Men and Avengers can duke it out for the very first time on the big screen? We've got some bad news; Dave Bautista doesn't think it's going to happen. As a fan I would love to see it. Unfortunately it's always gonna be like that because the studios have a thing. X-Men vs. Avengers will probably never happen. ) Dave Bautista addressed recent rumors about a potential crossover between the X-Men and Avengers on the big screen. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor admitted that he wants to see such an event take place, but he doesn't think that it's going to happen anytime soon -- or even at all. The rights issues between Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox have remained a nightmare for a number of years, and that doesn't seem poised to change in the near future.
These issues have become one of the biggest advantages for the competition in recent years. Unlike Marvel, DC has access to all of the characters (big and small) in its catalogue, which means they can make an adaptation of any character or any storyline they'd like. By contrast, Marvel has had to think a bit more creatively and make necessary changes to vital storylines (Civil War comes to mind) in order to accommodate characters they don't have access to. That being said, we are optimistic that Dave Bautista might actually be wrong about this. Rumors associated with the Avengers: Infinity War production have indicated a possible (yet unconfirmed) reference to Doctor Doom in the upcoming Marvel team-up. If Marvel Studios actually manages to negotiate some sort of deal for the Fantastic Four rights, then it definitely lays the groundwork for the misunderstood mutants to finally meet Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Even if the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never cross over with the mutants of the X-Men universe, there's still plenty of story left for both worlds to tell.
Dave Bautista will return as Drax the Destroyer when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters next summer on May 5, 2017. Stay tuned for more details! Seriously, though: The Lego Ninjago Movie’s trailer is here, and it’s a pretty good time. The Lego Ninjago Movie follows a band of brave brick ninjas led by a wise old master (Jackie Chan) as they fight against the evil Garmadon (Justin Theroux) who wants to destroy the island they live on. To make matters worse, one of those ninjas is Garmadon’s son, Lloyd (Dave Franco), our protagonist, who must navigate both his rocky relationship with his father and the horrors of high school. There are some pretty great gags in here, and any trailer that ends on a Kumail Nanjiani joke is always worth a watch. Last year, Lego released a sort of test animation for this film, The Master, in front of last year’s fall release Storks, and if you’re a little worried about the concept, we highly suggest you seek it out and watch it. While Ninjago might not necessarily have the same broad appeal as something like Batman does (it doesn’t), it still looks kind of cool, and highlights what is truly the forgotten great accomplishment of these Lego films: The animation.
