There was one set on display; the #70817 LEGO Movie Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack; Unikitty fans are going to be very happy with having another variation of their favorite feisty little character. lthough this is still just a speculation, this new set might be the LEGO Master Builder Submarine, which was built by several of the main characters from The LEGO Movie – including Vitruvius, Benny, Batman, Wyldstyle, Unikitty and Emmet – while they were being chased by Bad Cop. The submarine is a mash-up of their different styles of building and it looks totally crazy and awesome. I have heard from a lot of LEGO fans who would be very happy with the submarine made into a LEGO set. I would too, although I’m really not sure if it will actually happen. The original submarine created in LEGO Digital Designer for the movie is quite large and part-dense, so it is going to have to be an expensive set. It also doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of play-features. As you can see from The LEGO Movie clip below, it was basically built hastily, then dove into the water. T

here is a little bit of the interior showing with the double-decker couch, but that’s about it. Then, another possibility LEGO fans talk about is a LEGO Batman Batwing. This is also a quite large vehicle in the movie, but I could see it being made into a LEGO set. There is lots of swoosh-ability with the Batwing that would make both kids and adults happy. Below is a wonderful and movie-accurate version of the Batwing, painstakingly built by LEGO fan Stefan Edlinger (Brickmasta) using clips from The LEGO Movie as reference. Stefan also made full PDF instruction available for sale on his website, in case you want to build your own. See here: LEGO Batwing Instructions PDF At this point this is all that’s known about The LEGO Movie sets scheduled for the beginning of 2015. How many sets will be released in total is not known as of yet, but I’m sure we will hear more before the end of the year. In the meantime you can check out the current selection of The LEGO Movie sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to another wave of The LEGO Movie sets? Do you feel that the LEGO Submarine or the LEGO Batwing is a possibility? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! Would love to hear your opinion on this! 😉

We got a new trailer today for The LEGO Batman Movie, and it does not disappoint. The LEGO Batman Movie stars Will Arnett as Batman, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, and Michael Cera as Robin. You can catch it in theaters February 10, 2017. In case you missed it, LEGO will be releasing sets along with the movie, many of which were revealed at New York Comicon.LEGO has also announced two new LEGO Batman Movie sets this morning. They will be available in January. 70900 The Joker Balloon Escape, 124 pieces, $14.99 USD 70908 The Scuttler, 775 pieces, $79.99 USD

Tell all your friends! New York Comicon starts in a couple days, and LEGO has started teasing some of the great things to be revealed during the event. In anticipation of the LEGO Batman Movie (hitting theaters February 2017), LEGO has revealed three additional new sets on Facebook and Twitter for the movie: The Batcave, Batman vs Mr. Freeze, and Arkham Asylum below. Click to see more images! Following on from the success of The LEGO Movie, Warner Bros have announced both The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago movie. Yesterday, USA Today released a clip of an animated short from the latter, entitled “The Master battles a chicken”. The LEGO Ninjago Movie is due in theaters September 22, 2017, and features a stellar cast including Jackie Chan as Master Wu. The short will play before Storks, due to open in theaters September 23, 2016. If you even think about bringing government, baby sitters, bedtimes, frowny faces, bushy mustaches, or negativity of any kind into her town then she’s gonna do to your face what Limp Bizkit did to music in the late 90s!

Grantmasters, continuing in his quest to find new and exciting uses for that Belville shoe, created this adorable mash-up of everyone’s favorite brick-built pony-cat and the foul-mouthed antihero that’s currently tearing up the box office. Cotton-candy coated chimichangas anyone? When you’re scouting for things worth blogging, it’s easy for your head to get turned by enormous creations or complex builds. However, sometimes it can be a relatively simple model in a good composition which catches the eye. This neat diorama from city.s is a great example of how a clean building style, decent photography, and a touch of humor can create an arresting image (pun absolutely intended)… The color contrast in the picture is excellent, with the red of the “resistance piece car” really popping against the blue sky backdrop. And the brick-built vehicle itself and the road surface are nicely done. But the choice of face for the Emmett minifig was the touch of detail which made me smile.

And, when it comes down to it, surely that’s what a LEGO creation is for? Unikitty is one of my favorite characters from The LEGO Movie, but I don’t know that I love all the line-ups of Unikitty variations I’m constantly running across. But this one is different. tankm has built nineteen different Unikitties as characters from the entire Star Wars saga. Here are my three favorites, conveniently in a single picture — Unikitty Chewie, Unikitty Han Solo, and Unikitty Han Solo in carbonite. I also like Luke & Leia’s parents — the expression on Unikitty Queen Amidala’s face is priceless. “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli is one of those paintings that you study in Art History, poring over the symbolism and innovative Renaissance techniques until the painting becomes one with the millions of reproductions you’ve seen all your life, losing any interest or meaning it may have had. (Clearly, I much prefer “Primavera”…) So, I’m always pleased to run across a refreshing new take on a classic work of art.

Polish builder Bartłomiej Sekuła has built a three-dimensional version of the painting reminiscent of a tableau vivant, with minifigs representing each of the figures in the original work. That’s actually pretty cool on its own, but Bartłomiej goes one step further with a parody version of this iconic scene. Click for the big reveal! If you missed it at 25% off a couple months ago, 70816 Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! from The LEGO Movie is on sale again from Amazon, available at $75.95 instead of $99.99 (about 24% off). from The LEGO Movie — need I say more? I had an opportunity to review LEGO Movie 70814 Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech Building Set, provided for us by LEGO. The set runs $59.99 USD, with 708 pieces.I like the set. I think it’s got an excellent selection of parts overall. I enjoyed the build thoroughly. There are some excellent details to the model overall that make it appear particularly impressive. It looks really nifty. After having built it, though? I can’t say I’d pay full price for it. Let’s explore more, shall we? Welcome back fight fans, to Sin City Nevada for another round of Friday Night Fights. Tonight we join an ongoing fray, as the LEGO world continues to be gripped with Exo-suit mania. Hec, even the animals are getting in on the action! But let’s up the ante and give this a cinematic twist, shall we? In the R-rated corner, we have a recreation of an A.P.U. from The Matrix Trilogy by Niki Dregant: While over in the PG-rated corner, lurks a Unikitty-piloted Cloud Cuckoo Land Mech by Martin Gee:

As usual, constant reader, you are tasked with deciding, by way of comment, who will stomp their way to glory, and who is destined for the scrap heap. On the last edition of Friday Night Fights, Devil in the architecture Details, Nick Barrett’s Georgian town house prevailed with a monumental score of 11-0. Tune in next week for another action packed edition of Friday Night Fights! Being the only builder gutsy enough ever to attempt a minifig scaled version of Howl’s moving castle, it’s comes as no surprise to discover that Imagine Rigney was behind this mind-bending recreation of the fall of Cloud Cuckoo Land from The LEGO Movie… But the diorama just wouldn’t be complete without our heros escaping in the Bat Submarine. So he build that too, naturally. This makes me really wish LEGO would put out more official sets based on that particular region of the LEGO Movie universe. However, if anyone suggests the above creations be submitted as projects to the Lego Ideas site, be warned: I will reach through the screen and slap you!
