It looks like it didn’t take long for “” directors and to get over their Oscars snub — and a award for best animated film certainly helps. The movie won best animated film at Sunday’s BAFTAs, and Lord and Miller took some light-hearted jabs at the Academy while accepting the award at the ceremony. “You are our favorite Academy by far,” the directors said on stage. “You guys win the award for best Academy. This is the end of the awards road for us, so we can say whatever we want. There’s no one left to impress.” “The Lego Movie,” which was considered a shoe-in for the animated film category at the 2015 Academy Awards, ended up as one of the biggest shocks of last month’s nominations when it was snubbed in favor of “Big Hero 6,” “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” “The Boxtrolls,” “Song of the Sea” and “The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.” Even then, though, Lord and Miller took the snub in stride. Lord tweeted a Lego version of an Oscar, saying, “It’s okay.

Warner Bros.’ ‘Lego Movie’ Takes BAFTA Kids’ Award Cartoon Network takes the kids' channel of the year prize LONDON — Warner Bros.’ “The Movie” won the kids’ feature film prize at the Children’s Awards Sunday, fighting off competition from “Maleficent,” “How to Train Your Dragon 2” and “Frozen.” won the kids’ channel of the year prize, while its show “Adventure Time” took the award for international program. Kindle Entertainment was named independent production company of the year, and was part of the team behind online mystery-drama “Dixi,” which nabbed the BAFTA for original interactive show. Disney Animated won for adapted interactive show. The vidgames category was won by Nintendo’s racing title “Mario Kart 8.” “Katie Morag,” which is produced by Move on Up, won the BAFTA for drama, and the show’s 9 year-old lead Cherry Campbell took home the performer prize. Aardman Animations’ “Shaun the Sheep” received the BAFTA award for animation. Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood, better known as double-act Dick & Dom, triumphed in the presenter category for “Absolute Genius with Dick & Dom,” while another of their shows, “Diddy Movies,” picked up the BAFTA in the comedy category. The short form category was won for the third year in a row by CITV’s “Share a Story.” Peter Firmin received the Special Award for his outstanding contribution to children’s media. The results of the BAFTA kids’ vote were also announced at the ceremony. More than 200,000 votes were cast by 7 to 14 year olds.
