I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here! If you are like me you are putting the finishing touches on the house, baking all kinds of treats, and buying the last of your gifts. This year I was lucky enough to snag an American Girl doll on a major sale. I paid less than $60 (including shipping!) for the doll, first book, and an extra set of clothes. I’m beyond excited to give such a wonderful gift to my six-year-old. She is going to be so excited on Christmas morning because she’s been asking for a “big doll” for months and months now. American Girl dolls will forever have a special place in my heart. They are a fairly expensive but such high quality dolls that really last well. Plus, the books that go with the classic dolls are such a great part of the package. When I was a girl. each of my sisters and I were given an American Girl doll the Christmas that we were ten years old. It was a very special present from my grandparents and one that we looked forward to with anticipation.

I still have my Addy doll and she is something that I’ve kept and really cherish. Part of the fun of the American Girl dolls is their size; they, or any other 18-inch doll are just perfect to dress and redress. And you know what that means, you need more than one outfit! I thought it would be fun to feature some of the best resources for American Girl dolls on the web and that is what this post is – the ultimate America Girl Accessory Guide. The collection is broken up into awesome retail deals, American Girl doll tutorials and patterns for the DIYers, and handmade (or small business) items for purchase. I’ve collected everything from dolly underwear and DIY bedding to matching outfits for girl and doll to free bunk bed instructions. There are some adorable things here, so take a look around and you are bound to find the perfect little extra to give to your favorite little girl. 1. Kohls : Dollie and Me Brand. Place seat inside arms and attach through arms and also to 1x2 supports with 1-1/4" nails and glue. Quick Cushion Tutorial - Use 1" thick foam batting (I used seat cushion pads available at most craft stores). If your foam batting is thicker, you will need to alter these plans. Pillows are just stuffed with stuffing. SOFA CUSHION AND PILLOW FABRIC CUTS (2) 7" x 15-1/2" - seat cushion pieces (4) 4" x 7" - pillows (make two) CHAIR CUSHION AND PILLOW FABRIC CUTS (2) 7" x 8-1/2" - seat cushion pieces (2) 4" x 7" - pillows (make two) Step 1 - With right sides together, sew two identical pieces together, with 1/4" seams, turning corners. Near the center of a longer side, leave an opening big enough to inside out and stuff cushion or stuffing into. Do this on all cushion and pillow covers. Stuff the pillow covers with stuffing and hand stitch opening closed.

Step 2 - Box cushion corners. For the seat cushion, you will want to sew the corners on the inside at a 45 degree angle to create the box cushion ends. With the cushion cover sewed and inside out, find the corners and pull fabric appart, so that the sewed seams are aligned.  Draw a line perpendicular to the seam where the diagonal is 1" long.   When done correctly, your seam will look like this You can also pop over and read this tutorial here (note that the tutorial is for 2" thick cushions instead of 1" thick). To cut each line, place a ruler on the line and hold firmly in place while running the box cutter down alongside the ruler. Use several passes of the blade to cut instead of trying to cut all the way through at once. For the bed, score on the dotted lines with the box cutter. To score, only cut through one corrugated layer and bend the cardboard carefully along that line. Run a line of hot glue down the fold. Cover the cardboard pieces with contact paper, if desired. For the vanity side, add a shelf.  The shelf will help tie the two pieces together.  Apply glue to edges of 1x6 shelf and nail in place through the hobby boards and 1/4" plywood. Build the larger section of the doll closet, notching the top and bottom 1x6s for the 1/4" hobby board piece to fit inside.
