ADULT FOOTWEAR SIZING CHART Email to a Friend Be the first to review this productA couple of weeks ago, Belgian organisation BE Vegan organised the second edition of Vegan Summerfest. We went to the first edition in 2015 (see our post here) and surely did not want to miss it! This year, the festival was in the Artcube in Ghent, where BE Vegan had also hosted a talk by Jo-An McArthur last Winter (see blogpost here). A more spacious venue than last year, with more room inside and outside. We went early to avoid the big crowd as much as possible and to secure a parking spot nearby (by the time we left early afternoon, people were already parked several blocks away from the venue). The foodtrucks were outside and inside were two halls with stalls of organisations like Bite Back, Animal Rights, and also several shops selling shoes, books, food and cosmetics. With benches to sit down and relax a while. During the afternoon, there were some talks in yet another hall.

Would have loved to hear Ruby Roth‘s ‘Vegan is Love‘ talk (via Skype), but that was scheduled for the late afternoon. It would have been nice to have some more variety in the talks, with for example info on veganism and sport, veganism and health, or about intersectionality (like at the upcoming intersectionality conference at VegFest in London). There was more variety in the stalls than last year and it was great to get to know some new products and bussinesses! It was difficult to choose what to eat, so much choice! 🙂 Should have thought about bringing some storage boxes with us, to take some goodies home with us (remember to do that next year!) These are some of the things we had: Despite the venue being bigger than last year, it still felt a bit crowded and cramped for space at times. Of course the huge turn out is fantastic! And being a free festival means there’s a low treshold for people who are interested to come take a look and for vegans to bring non-vegan friends along. H

aving to pay an entrance fee would probably deter some people from coming, but it on the other hand, it would allow to look for a more accessible and spacious venue. Maybe something to consider? Looking forward to many more editions! For more information visit their website..Finally, my first post in 2017 is a fact! I found the time to shoot some outfits with my mom last weekend and she’s getting good at it too actually, who knew?! She’s also going to take up photography lessons. I’m super excited because I’m going to do more shoots which means more content on the blog! I’m a big fan of wearing light and soft colours during winter but my mom always says that it’s too cold outside when I’m wearing white or beige… It’s not really relevant though since it’s the fabric that determents if you freeze to death. I’m in love with the shape, fabric and fit of this coat. That’s why I also have it in black and maybe some other colours soon (you can never have too many coats)… It’s classy yet comfy and the only thing keeping me warm these days!

Keep your eyes on the blog because I’m sharing some news real soon! Zara Coat & Sweater Rebecca Minkoff Bag by Zalando Masunaga1905 Glasses by Loft (Ghent) Bloggers always have to be on top of the latest trends.. Or that’s what I hear. I’m not wearing clothes because it’s a trend but because I like them and they suit me. However I’m totally digging this sweatpants trend! To be honest I was looking for a new kind of pants (we’ve had the culottes  and the ripped jeans) that could brighten up my outfit.  I saw these last week and bought them in different colors. Comfy and sporty in this post but I’m also wearing them with heels for more classy occasions. To be honest, I wasn’t planning on taking pictures that day because I wasn’t feeling well and I thought my outfit wasn’t that special but hey, we don’t always have to look like we’re on a runway right?! Rebecca Minkoff Bag (by Zalando) I’ve noticed that I’m wearing black most of  the time and I want to change that. But before I’m going all crazy colors on you guys, here’s my full black VIP look with a finishing touch by komono. Find the Stella Metal Sunglasses here and the  winston royale watch here. Every girl likes to dress up once in a while and I’m no exception. At first I thought overknee boots were only for people with long legs but with these babies I feel more confident and sexy than ever. When I’m in these boots and wearing a pair of sunglasses my attitude immediately changes but not in the pretentious way. Still need to stay down to earth but a little confidence never hurt nobody. What do you guys think? How French can you get? Thank god for the culottes comeback. I’m in love with them and think they fit my curvy figure perfectly. They put the accent on my waist, not my shorty short legs.  With a similar colored crop top you can really be your most French self.

Classy chic for a change with a black & white look and the pink lips as a finishing touch. Ton sur ton is always a win and Ive been doing it for a while now. Not so much color blocking as using the same colorshades in one look. This one is a basic look but more daring colors are on your way! Pics by Julie Geilenkirchen / A cause des brunettes So my hair is short now. Can’t remember the days it was long, you get used to it so fast! I’ve been blogging all day and got some great looks for you guys during these holi-study-days. This is one of my personal favorites because you can never go wrong with an all black-white sneaker look! I remember thinking a few weeks ago ‘damn I can’t afford this sweater but I really need it’ so I found a way (read : didn’t eat for a week. No that didn’t happen but no caviar or champagne for me is what I’m saying). Now it’s my go to sweater whenever I feel like dressing comfy and cool. Would you’ve guessed it’s a Zara piece? Lately I’m wearing less statement necklaces and more ear cuffs!

Although they’re not easy to find for me because of my small ears, my collection is already quite extensive. Ph by le mama Nike Air force 1 sneakers Cheap monday high waist jeans Pencil skirts used to be the typical image of business woman on wall street. Combined with the same color blazer and high heels offcourse. Here’s one with a sweater and sneakers but still very fashionable and the perfect example of streetstyle! This is my first post with a pencil skirt but there are more to come! They are also very cool combined with ankle boots and a pastel knitted sweater. Last week I was asked how I would describe my style and I said streetstyle, casual chic. This is a perfect example of what I meant. So girls, pencil away and show me what you do with yours! Mac ruby woo lipstick & Mac vino pencil Ph by Annebeth Bels It’s been a while since I wore my glasses and although I like them I’m not the biggest fan of wearing glasses in general (not even sunglasses).

It botters me that there’s a glass in between when I’m talking to someone  so I tend to take them off. It’s probably just a matter of habit. Now that my hair is short and school is starting again I’ll probably wear them more often, it makes me look smarter don’t you think? This look is kind of a contradiction between classy and sporty. The glasses and heels are elegant but the Tshirt and pants are sporty. Since I’m not the type who belongs just in one category I tend to mix it up a bit. This Tshirt is one of my favorites and is a souvenir from a small store in Berlin, a.k.a Shopping paradise! These pants are also on my most worn list because I’ve been looking for a model like this for so long but never found the right shape or fabric. Heels are often not comfortable and these are no exception! I just wear heels when I’m going out to dinner so that I have to take 5 steps, sit down, eat my meal and let my feet rest and then go  home after a few glasses of wine which is when you don’t even feel your feet that much.

Pictures by the lovely Nick Van Calster What I’m wearing : Pants – &Other Stories For those who love platforms, these silver babies are to die for! They’re very comfortable and you’re still taller without having sore feet! Perfect for a city trip or a day of shopping! Normally I always wear long coats, they’re classy  and if you style it well it can be the finishing touch of your outfit! But every now and then you need to change a bit and this coat is casual chic and warm at the same time! Platform sneakers and a short jacket, it’s almost like my leggs look longer 😉 Clutch – Essentiel (by Sofie Valkiers) Shoes – Steve Madden pictures by Margot Krizsa I’ve got some great news, I’m going to paris with some fellow bloggers for ParisFashionWeek!!  Anouk arranged  Thalys tickets for us so in 2 weeks we’re all going in our most sophisticated outfits!
