Seven things to do before a day to your flight

For some, purchasing plane tickets, booking a hotel, and renting a car is all the preparation they need for a holiday but planning a holiday needs more than that. To get ready for your flight the next day, you need to take care of the following things:

  1. Research your trip – Do a little research if the place you have picked for your vacation is new for you. You can read a guidebook or map and download the itinerary of travel apps to familiarize yourself with the destination. You should book a flight and find out the flight schedule. Before reaching the airport from your home, you should check the flight status. You should decide how to get to your airport accommodation once your flight lands. If you are going abroad, you should find the local currency and the exchange rate.Finding out the weather condition in advance will help you while packing. You should also have some emergency phone numbers for your destination. Doing research will help you in making your trip more enjoyable.
  2. Plan – Whether planning a spa vacation or a romantic dinner at the best restaurant at your destination, it is always good to make plans and reservations in advance. You can consult good guide books or websites to learn more about your destination. If you are unsure how and where to book, you can take help from the hotel concierge by making them a call. They will send you the list of restaurants, spas, golf courses, and other entertainment activities in the area.
  3. Keep your passports and visa handy – If you are traveling out of the country, you should have a valid passport. In addition, make sure that your driver’s license is not expired. Some countries do not allow you to enter with a passport having an expiry date within six months. So, make sure that your passport is valid for six months. For traveling abroad, you should also have a visa. Be an early applicant as it may take weeks to process.
  4. Get prescriptions Getting sick can ruin your vacation plan, so make sure to fill all your prescriptions and pack some common OTC medications.

Suppose you have allergies to some food, medication, insect bites, or other medical problem. In that case, you should wear a medical alert bracelet and carry a letter from your doctor specifying what needs to be done during an emergency.

In the end, pack well, and get to the airport two hours early after checking flight status. So, you get enough time to board your flight. A vacation can be fun, but only when you have planned everything. Nobody likes a stressful vacation where you are surprised by new trouble each day of your stay.
