The difference between as single motor and a dual motor recliner is that the dual motor has two buttons to work the footplate (in and out) and another two buttons to work the back of the recliner (back and forward). The single motor recliners have two buttons which work both the footplate and the back of the recliner at the same time. While there is no problem with the single motor version, the dual motor version offers a lot more adjustability to the person's preferred sitting position and some dual motor models have the full sleep position.
