Azari is not an insult lol. It is just Azeri in Persian and some Iranian Azeri dialects. Azerbaijan = Azarbaijan. Maybe some silly Pan-Iranists used it as an insult, but it really isn't an insult. By this logic, calling Persians Fars (which is the classic pan-turkic move) would be an insult as well.
