📷Polly Borland (born 1959) is an Australian photographer who formerly resided in England from 1989 to 2011, and now lives in Los Angeles, United States.

Borland’s subjects have ranged from Cate Blanchett to Queen Elizabeth II to musician Nick Cave, whom she has been documenting for 35 years.

Borland, who draws inspiration from Diane Arbus, carefully directs the costumes, makeup, and poses of her models, creating scenes that are intimate and dysmorphic.

Of the photographer Cave has said, “Polly seems to me to be shooting into a distorted mirror and simply bringing back heartbreaking refracted images of herself.”
