The second floor space was a complete renovation as the NOI team worked together with the architect to form a cohesive and state of the art facility. The centerpiece of their expansion is that of the adaptable teaching space where Vanderbilt’s faculty come to enhance their classroom methods. The space was equipped with moveable tables and chairs as well as room dividers that pull double duty as magnetic marker boards..

These components all aid in the ability to collaborate in both smaller meeting areas or large conferences or presentations. Project Team: Interior Designer: Katie Schoch Sales/Project Manager: Missy Bean Architect: Hastings Architecture Associates The Kissam Quadrangle, located at the corner of West End and 21st Ave, was in need of an update and in the summer of ’08, the quad received just that. Among the renovations were a larger laundry facility, a common area kitchen with tables and chairs, game tables and a large flat-screen TV and lounge area. Use of vibrant colors and fabrics in the lounge and laundry area helped make the space more inviting and the modifications aimed to make Kissam a more desirable place to live for the students. Project Team: Interior Designer: Katie Peppers Sales/Project Manager: Missy Bean Architect: Gresham Smith & Partners The new Green Hills Pediatric Associates building was a tenant build-out project with Southeast Venture. The space was designed to accommodate the businesses growing needs and update the overall look.

A number of meetings took place to discuss the client’s needs and to ensure the end result would satisfy their needs while staying inside the budget. Furniture was selected for the waiting areas, exam rooms, offices, and open work spaces. Finish plans and a finish schedule were provided to NOI to assist in coordinating furniture and fabric selections. To appeal to the younger children as well as the more mature patients, an overall primary color scheme was implemented throughout the building with accents of brown to tone down the intensity. Artwork was also selected to be visually interesting and compliment the overall theme of the design. Once the selections were finalized presentation boards were prepared and displayed in the clients existing space to allow patients to see the design of the new space. Site measurements were taken of the new construction to verify furniture placement. Eco-Energy has been a loyal customer of NOI since 2002. In 2005 they planned to build their new headquarters in the Franklin area. Eco-Energy called upon NOI to assist with their furniture needs. The main focus was the trading floor, where the customer had several requests: an open floor plan with access to light at every office; high storage needs within the stations; power and communication capabilities accessible at belt-line; and using eco-friendly products. Highly flexible furniture with ease of reconfiguration was also at the top of the list while staying within the allotted budget. To accomplish the above, NOI mixed an array of Haworth products including tables, wood cased goods and systems furniture. Working closely with the customer, and image based environment was created along with a very satisfied customer. NOI and architect Mike Manous were brought on to assist with the design of the new buildings. Along with furniture placement, NOI’s responsibilities included selections of fabrics, interior finishes, artwork and accessories. The clients wanted the building to reflect a “prairie” style which is shown through the structure of the building as well as the interior finishes and artwork. A warm, earthy color scheme was chosen to further enhance the style and reflect the architecture. Natural stone was used throughout the building and in the carpeted areas a circular vine pattern was specified. The artwork and accessories carried the theme with images of natural and organic elements. The Lebanon location was completed in 2007 with the Mt. Juliet Branch following in 2009. The Eye Institute was built to accommodate both the adult and pediatric clinical practices, as well as additional space for their educational programs, clinical trials unit, business office and departmental administration. The new two story facility is approximately 50,000 square feet and is located in the Children’s Hospital south garage office building. Programming for the new space began in November of 2005 with the client’s space and facilities team. NOI coordinated two floors of furniture which included the waiting rooms, offices and exam rooms. The NOI design team consulted with the client to determine the scope of the work and preparation of furniture cost estimates. The furniture was space planned, specified and fabrics were selected with Vanderbilt’s’ approval. NOI verified site measurements before delivery and coordinated furniture deliveries to lead to a successful project.
