nubia SM8650 Custom ROM Installation Guide

This guide assumes you have already done the following

• Unlocked your bootloader
• Installed the drivers for ADB and fastboot (windows)
• Obtained the latest version of android platform-tools

Recovery Installations

relevant zip files will contain "ota" in their name

1. Flash the provided recovery image from fastbootd or bootloader with
   fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2. Reboot to recovery mode. (this can be done with the following command: fastboot reboot-recovery )
3. Apply update from ADB
4. adb sideload rom-name.zip
5. When it completes, you will be asked if you want to reboot to install additional files.
   (This is only needed if you are flashing gapps or some other zip file before rebooting to system, choose No if you aren't)
6. Wipe data if you are coming from a different ROM or if you were told to previously.
7. Reboot system

Fastboot Installations

Relevant zip files will contain "img" in their filename

1. Reboot to bootloader mode
2. fastboot -w update rom_img.zip
   (exclude -w if you are upgrading to a newer version of the same ROM, or else this will wipe data)
