So other mattress companies began to market look-a-like gel mattresses maintaining they were as good as intelliBED. Natura use a gel that contains 15% microshperes by volume called Nexgel®. Serta also has a memory foam and gel pieces bed called i-comfort® in which the gelled memory foam reduces the transfer of heat to solve one of the problems of traditional memory foam. When we test these foamed gel knock-offs for material safety and durability we find they perform more like other foams and nothing like our patent protected Gel Matrix. We also have personal experience in working with customers who were told they were buying an intelliBED with Gel Matrix.
After less than two years of using one of these knock-off beds they had failed. When they called us for warranty help they got the bad news that they had been fooled by a salesperson and the product they purchased was not an intelliBED. Its a thicker pillow than expected but is good for my shoulder. I sleep on my right side all the time and my shoulder gets sore sometimes. This pillow pulls my head up so I'm not putting as much pressure on my shoulder. What type of warranty comes with the mattress and what does it exactly cover (non-prorated (no financial responsibility from you over the course of the warranty, on a fix or replacement of the mattress; or prorated, where you have to pay in over the course of the warranty more and more as the years go by)? Who pays for shipping if there is an issue and what will you have to do to prove a warranty problem? Do you have to purchase a foundation as a set with them, to comply with the warranty? Money Back Trial on the Mattress? Money back trials are critical, especially since a foam mattress may have a totally different feel than your current bed, or a totally different feel than what your expectations were of the mattress. Definitely stay away from retailers who don't offer a return policy on your memory foam mattress purchase.
