SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Miracle Mattress has announced they are closing a store in San Antonio following the backlash over a 9/11 'Twin Tower sale.' Miracle Mattress posted the video on Facebook for its "Twin Towers Sale." In the video, which has since been deleted, Miracle Mattress manager Cherise Bonanno is heard saying "What better way to remember 9/11 than with a Twin Tower sale?" Bonanno goes on to describe the deals shoppers can score as two men and two towers of mattresses stand behind her. At the end, she pretends to fall on the men, who then knock down the twin mattresses. "We'll never forget," Bonnano says at the end of the video after shrieking in panic. The company's owner, Mike Bonanno, posted a statement on the store's Facebook page on Friday apologizing for their actions and announcing that the store would be closing "indefinitely." "Effective immediately, our Miracle Mattress store will be closed indefinitely. We will be silent through the 9/11 Anniversary to avoid any further distractions from a day of recognition and remembrance for the victims and their families," Mike Bonanno said in a statement.
"We take full responsibility for our actions and sincerely regret the hurt and pain caused by this disrespectful advertising campaign." Bonanno said the company will share a public statement next week and share their plans on how they plan to help 9/11 memorial funds. "We will also describe our plans to offer support for the 9/11 Memorial and victims funds. I've maintained Friendships with a lot of these fellows.Mattresses have a high mark up too! That means the closer to ticket price, you'll be set for the day! Maximize those sales and sell accessories aka essentials...To quote the Legendary Kirk Goldin: "A mattress....is like a cake....And the essentials, are like the icing on the cake." Cons Here's the absolute bottom line on pay, post first 60 days. Hourly wage ($15.75) x 50 hours a week. This is guaranteed 'draw'. In order to make over the draw, you have to gross over $17,700 per 15 day period. Based on exact numbers I have seen, you have a 12% chance of doing that. To hit store budget, managers have a 17% chance , again based on exact numbers.
