The MataJi Sanctuary – from structured data to a visible Knowledge Panel
Artmedia DigitalToday we hit a quiet but meaningful milestone for The Kundalini Sanctuary. After tightening the site’s entity signals and refreshing the Google Business Profile, Google is now showing a Knowledge Panel for local searches. It isn’t luck – it’s the compounding effect of clean data, consistent profiles, and content people actually need.

The short arc
We started by making the Sanctuary legible to machines and helpful to humans.
Step 1 – Foundation (JSON-LD graph)
- Organization, Person, WebSite and homepage WebPage
- Address, phones, hours, geo, and consistent
sameAs - One clear hero image and logo
- MEC left as the single source of Event schema
Step 2 – Content for people + AI
- FAQ page with FAQPage schema
- Mini FAQs on key pages: Group Class, Private Healing, Women’s Circle, Moon Activations
- GBP hygiene: cover and logo, Appointment link to the Calendar, Services and Products, 11 Q&As
Result: the panel is now appearing for local searches. You can view it here:
Why this matters
- Trust at a glance – hours, location, call and directions right where people decide.
- Entity clarity – Google can reconcile the Sanctuary, Melanie MataJi, and key profiles.
- Better handoff – Appointment link points to the live Calendar, not a dead-end hub.
This is not a trophy that sits on a shelf. Panels fluctuate by location, language and intent. Stability grows with reinforcement.
What worked
- One source of truth – Yoast’s core graph plus a complementary MU plugin that extends the same
@idnodes.\ - No duplication – MEC owns Events; the graph does not create competing Event nodes.
- Consistency – same phones, hours and URLs across site, GBP and socials.
Real answers – the FAQ content exists on the page first, then in schema.
What’s next
Step 3 – Authority Building (Topical Authority SEO)
Normalize bios and links across profiles, add high-trust citations, invite and showcase reviews, publish short answers around core topics: Kundalini yoga, meditation, women’s circles, moon activations, private sessions.
Step 4 – AEO Focus (Citations and Data Aggregation)
Tighten direct-answer coverage so search and AI surfaces quote the Sanctuary’s pages. Add Course schema for Teacher Training and CourseInstance when dates are set. Post timely GBP Events when it helps.
There is no rush – but early work compounds. A light sprint over the next 2–3 weeks will help the panel appear more consistently and lift high-intent visibility.
