There is no other way to say it: Legoland is the worst value for money of any theme park bar none. It's hard to know where to start: the £132 admission fee for a family of four, the £15 per person for the "queue jumping" system (that's free at all Disney parks), or the cynical £2 charge to leave the car park! The rides themselves are OK (nothing special by any stretch of the imagination) and the food, service and general ambiance are average.In short, a total waste of money by any standards: avoid. 13,404 reviews sorted by: We where very lucky that we changed out Tesco Vouchers for ticket to get into Legland, as it would have cost us in the region of £200 if we hadnt.We did go out of school holidays which I believe does make a difference, as we didnt have to que for the rides long and where able to stay on some of them as well.It is a fantastic place to go both for kids and adults, however, it is a very expensive place especially for food, which isn't that brilliant either.
Ice-Cream for one scoop was £2.90 and a milkshake was £3.00.The lunch was over £28.00 and we didnt have much for that only fries, burger, wraps and 2 kids meals.....However, the entertainment was very good and if like us you have a dry day, it is a good place to go. My 7 year old son and I went to Legoland on a Tuesday, July 2010. What a waste of money! They have a horrendous wasp problem, there are huge queues for all rides (which are a waste of time anyway). You have to pay extra for a 'fastpass' type Qbot system and also for many of the rides. The Lego miniland would have been impressive, if it hadn't been dirty, and the interactive systems there and at other parts of the park were not working. It's also badly set out. We went on 6 poor rides all day and spent most of the day queuing and swatting wasps.Everyone I know who's visited there this summer (against my advice, ah well) have complained about it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Went to Lego land at a cost of £75.00 this Monday for two adults & one child.
Really not worth the money. We queued for ages for poor rides that last around 2 minutes if your lucky, we went on the kids big wheel and waited while he loaded each compartment then let us out again at the bottom, we didn't even go round once! Also the mini world looks very worn down and need of an urgent face-lift. The whole thing felt a complete over priced rip off We visted Legoland Windsor on 06/09/10 with a 3 year old and young baby. Ticket price was £55 for the 3 of us (infants free) thanks to a corporate deal through work +£2 for parking (all US themeparks charge for this so we are just following them in the UK by the looks of it). Car park was 2 minute walk and accross the road from the premium offering so it is not worth paying the extra. Prior to going we did wonder if our 3 year old would like it as he has always been wary of the small ride ons in shopping centres and never wants us to put money in for a ride (parents dream!!). However, he was very keen to get on all the rides and always wanted to go on again.
The Fire Engines, Driving School and JCB's being paticular favourites. The rides themselves are really good for the age group they are intended for, if you want fast and furious then go to Alton Towers, Thorpe Park etc. The park was open from 10 - 5 and in that time we went on most of the rides that didn't get you wet! We only missed going on The Dragons Apprentice and the Jeep Safari as time caught us up in the end! We took our own lunch and drinks so didn't have to buy any refreshments in the park, only ice-creams which weren't overpriced really. Some ques were longer than others, the longest being 30 minutes, these seemed to drop in the last few hours of the day and you can get on quicker. I have yet to go to a theme park where you don't have to que, so it does make me wonder about some of the comments previously, when it seems to be a surprise to people.Only saw a couple of wasps but it was a cooler day, so they weren't a problem.We avoided the shop at the end, generally you can get the Lego cheaper from Amazon etc.
