They announced the coming of a V6 model after they saw the enthusiasm their previous models created on the market. In order to keep the size to a minimum and maximize usable torque, giving a better overall power output, lego fanatics build the pneumatic engines using Scotch Yoke. According to Jalopnik, the inline-4 cylinder model features a cross-plane crank, a gear driven valve train and a side mounted dual cam with one valve-per-cylinder. It has a max speed of 2000 rpm (4 bars), while the recommended operation pressure is under 6 bars/90 psi. The maximum tested pressure is 8 bars/120 psi, but again, it's not recommended. The less powerful inline-3 cylinder model features a 2-stud stroke, a one stud crank-throw and 4 main bearings. It has 1 valve per cylinder and uses a silicone-based lubricant. These engines are in one word 'amazing', because it's quite mind blowing to think of something made out  of Lego that can functional to real engine specifications. We just hope that future cars won't be fitted with Lego engines, otherwise we'll all get that bumper car feeling every time we drive our vehicle.

But, for a LEGO model, it does pretty much everything else. Created by YouTube content creator N.Z. Construction Studio, this build is mainly made out of LEGO Technic pieces. Technic is a subset of the building system which focuses on machinery and includes gears, axles, cogs, pistons and everything else you’d need to make an engine. The real difficulty comes in putting it all together. And, unlike and engine which creates power, this model actually consumes it. It uses the motor and battery box from LEGO’s Power Functions lines to operate so you caan see it in motion. If you’re impressed by this we strongly suggest you check out the set 42056: Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This slightly insane “toy” uses 2 704 pieces to create a  1:8 scale model of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS complete with a similarly functional engine as well as a double-clutch transmission.

All of that will cost you, sit down for this, R4 500 locally. Even worse: we’ve seen some local retailers jacking the price of this limited run set up to R6 000.Released back in 1987, almost 30 years ago, the Ferrari F40 is still considered to be one of the greatest supercars of all time. It was the last car that Enzo Ferrari himself personally approved, and Lego has finally immortalized it in plastic bricks with its latest Creator model. The $90, 1158-piece set will be available starting August 1, but Lego VIP members can can actually order one a few weeks earlier starting July 15. Who wouldn’t want to add this to their collection as soon as possible? The model includes working doors, a hood that opens and closes revealing the car’s trunk up front, pop-up headlights, and a rear gate that lifts open to reveal the car’s engine. And not only does the model include a detailed replica of the Ferrari F40’s twin turbo-charged, 2.9-liter, 478 horsepower V8 engine, it’s actually removable so you can marvel at all of its beauty outside the car.

If you’re a fan of the F40, this is probably the closest you’ll ever get to owning one. You’re reading Leg Godt, the blog with the latest Lego news and the best sets in the web. And for those of you with four months of free time, seventeen suitcases full of Lego bricks and a masters in mechanical engineering, we'll totally give you props if – and only if – you come up with something as mind bending as this. You are looking at a "working" Lego V8 engine. And the details are stunning. Pistons pump, valves open and close, rocker arms rock, the fly wheel spins -- there's even two bundle'o'snakes headers that flow into twin collectors, though we don't like how they get reduced and choked. But hey, if we really don't like it, we can build our own – with straight pipes! Also, we love the throttle bodies (made from radar disks) – they're a wonderful touch.
