Play as JJ Abrams, but not George Lucas, in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens 06.30.2016 :: 3:01PM EST @Romudeth If you’ve played any of the Lego games, then you know they are filled with a ton of selectable characters. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is no exception, with 150 characters for players to choose from. Among them is none other than JJ Abrams, the film’s director. Both Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy are in the game. However, George Lucas, the man who created Star Wars, is noticeably absent from the roster. Though George Lucas is Star Wars‘ creator, he is no longer its owner. He sold Lucasfilm to Disney back in October of 2012. Because of that, he no longer has any power or influence over the franchise. Depending on how much of a Lucas fan you are, that could be a good or bad thing. Star Wars fans in general have been mostly positive about Lucas no longer being involved with the franchise, so it’s highly doubtful that anyone will be too upset that he isn’t in this Lego Star Wars game.

If you do want to see George Lucas in Lego form, then you can check out two Lego mini movies that feature the famous director. The CG animated films, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Brick, and Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace, aired on the Cartoon Network in 2008 and 2011, respectively. Each of these feature a small cameo from George Lucas. The films also came out when Lucas was still the owner of both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. subscribe to our newsletter: Subscribing to a newsletter indicates your consent to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
