LEGO Ideas Second 2014 Review Results: Announcing LEGO Ideas #011 and #012 Are you ready for this!? The latest LEGO Ideas Review results are finally in, and we yet again have some amazing news to share with you! Over the past months, the LEGO Ideas Review Board has been evaluating eight spectacular projects. In the end, only one outstanding design made it through this review and will become an official LEGO product. We are happy to welcome the following concept into the LEGO Ideas product family: LEGO Ideas #011 WALL-E Big congratulations to Angus MacLane who created this blocky version of everyone’s favorite hopelessly romantic robot.
MacLane is a Pixar animator and director, who actually worked on the WALL-E film. He created the model during the WALL-E production, and submitted it to LEGO Ideas in hopes of it becoming a set. Your hopes and dreams for WALL-E have come true, as the creation will become the next LEGO Ideas product. During our last review announcement in November 2014, we indicated that we were still evaluating two timey-wimey projects: “Doctor Who and Companions” and a project simply named “Doctor Who.” After much consideration the LEGO Review Board has come to a decision about these two projects: LEGO Ideas #012 Doctor Who and CompanionsThe LEGO Group will produce a “Doctor Who”-themed project and the LEGO Review Board has chosen the “Doctor Who and Companions” project by LEGO Ideas member AndrewClark2. Andy Clark is an artist at a gaming company by day, and a LEGO builder and pretend run-away Time Lord by night. For those following closely, this makes Doctor Who and Companions the third project from the First 2014 LEGO Review period to become an official LEGO set!
We are absolutely thrilled to share this news with you, and we only wish there were a real TARDIS so we could transport you straight to the set’s release date. Design, Pricing, and Availability for Both Sets We’re still working out the final product design, pricing and availably for both the WALL-E and Dr. Who and Companions LEGO sets, so check back on LEGO Ideas later this year for details. All other projects from the Second 2014 LEGO Review will not be produced The LEGO Review Board has evaluated each project according to our decision criteria. We’ve decided that all other concepts in the Second 2014 review period will unfortunately not be produced as LEGO sets. This decision, however, does in no way take away from the incredible talent put into these projects or the passion supporters have shown. How do we make these decisions? Getting 10,000 votes on a project is an extraordinary accomplishment in and of itself but it’s really just the beginning of a journey.
After reaching 10.000 votes the project will enter the LEGO Review stage. During the LEGO Review, a team of specialists within The LEGO Group – including LEGO set designers, marketing and business representatives, and other relevant team members – investigate and evaluate the project to determine its potential as a LEGO set. This involves analyzing the votes and information you give us about your project as well as looking at things like playability, safety, and fit within the LEGO brand. This takes a while and the timing varies because of all the different factors involved in the decision process. Every potential LEGO product, including those developed internally, goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards. The LEGO Review Board makes all final decisions on which new sets the LEGO Group will release based on LEGO Ideas projects. Third 2014 LEGO Review Results Coming Late Spring 2015 The third 2014 LEGO Review is well underway, and you can expect results late spring/early summer.

Lego Architecture is a sub-brand and product range of the Lego construction toy, which aims to “celebrate the past, present and future of architecture through the Lego Brick”.[1] The brand includes a series of Lego sets designed by ‘Architectural Artist’ Adam Reed Tucker, and each contain the pieces and instructions to build a model of a famous architectural building in micro-scale.
Adam Reed Tucker earned a degree in architecture at Kansas State University in 1996.[2] While there, he sought a method to join his two passions of art and architecture, and hit upon the idea of using Lego bricks. From this, he founded Brickstructures, Inc., and began to design and build models of famous landmarks. His work was noticed by the Lego Group, and together they formed a partnership to release some of his models as commercially available Lego sets under the Lego Architecture brand. Sets in the product line contain a premium booklet, that – besides the build instructions – also include various information and pictures of the building itself. By the beginning of 2010, six sets had been released in the range, under two 'series'. Within the 'Landmark Series' are models of the Sears Tower (21000), John Hancock Center (21001), the Empire State Building (21002), and the Seattle Space Needle (21003). Within the 'Architect Series' are models of the Guggenheim Museum (21004) and Fallingwater (21005).
In the beginning of July 2010, a seventh set, the White House (21006), was released. An eighth set (21007) was released in November 2010: New York's Rockefeller Center. The ninth set (21009), Farnsworth House (Plano, Illinois), was released in April 2011. A tenth set (21008), The Burj Khalifa, was released in June 2011. The Willis Tower (21000) was also released in 2011, this kit was a re-issue of the original Sears Tower kit; the only change was the printed tile to reflect the building's renaming. An eleventh and twelfth set, the Robie House (21010) and the Brandenburg Gate (21011) were released in September 2011. In January 2012, it was announced that the next Architecture set would be 21012 Sydney Opera House. The set was released in March 2012. In June 2012, Big Ben (21013) was released. In July 2012, the Namdaemun Gate (renamed Sungnyemun Gate) (21016) was released. In September 2012, the Villa Savoye (21014) was released. The Eames House (21015) was scheduled and then canceled, as it never came out as a set.
In June 2013, the Leaning Tower of Pisa (21015) was announced for the Lego Architecture series. Its set number (21015) replaced the original Eames House after it was canceled. United Nations Headquarters (21018) came out next. In October 2013, Marina Bay Sands and the Eiffel Tower were both announced. The product range has been reviewed favourably by many commentators. Journalist Jenny Williams said "The scale on these kits is pretty small, though, so don’t expect exquisite detail.
