The Lego Movie Has A Hilarious Blooper Reel (video) Updated August 3, 2015 If you haven’t seen The Lego Movie, well, we just don’t know what to say to you. Go forth and see it. But you don’t need to be familiar with the plot to get why its blooper reel is hilarious. For those unfamiliar, The Lego Movie is a hybrid of CGI and stop-motion. Stop-motion LEGO is, of course, fairly common online, to the point where it’s a subgenre of stop-motion animation known as the brickfilm. But mostly these bloopers seem designed to let the cast just screw around and make jokes. And what a cast it is: In this video you’ve got Will Arnett (Batman), Chris Pratt (Emmett), Alison Brie (Meow Meow Kitty), Elizabeth Banks (The “Lucy” that Batman is riffing on in one clip), and that’s none other than Morgan Freeman busting the chops of the directors as Vitruvius.

We’re guessing from the video above that it was a fun set to be on. It’s worth noting that The Lego Movie is also fairly unusual in that it’s a children’s movie, released in February, that’s grossed nearly $80 million in one week and seems poised to rake in millions more this weekend. Let’s face it, people probably aren’t taking their kids to the theater to see RoboCop, and it helps that the movie is decidedly as much for adults as for kids. As you may have noticed, we’re pushing this movie fairly hard, and with reason; it’s a superbly made brickfilm with a genuinely engaging and honest message. It’s the kind of animated movie, as you might guess from the blooper reel, that holds up as a film in its own right. So, agree with your significant other that other movies can wait; go see The Lego Movie if you want something romantic.Sorry for the inconvenience. Our website is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance.Thank you for your understanding.Get A Glimpse Into The Making Of The LEGO Movie

Posted by Ben Huber on Jan 12, 2015 in Cinema, Hobbies and Collections Awards season is coming up, so a few Blu-ray featurettes are starting to show up online as part of the promotion cycle. One of the more interesting ones I’ve caught is a behind-the-scenes look at some of the CGI and real-life LEGOs that were used in The LEGO Movie. It might surprise you how many real LEGOs were used in the film! It’s a pretty cool process and the amount of care and detail put into everything is astounding. I hope that any future Lego movies can have the same amount of attention and love put into them… and not devolve into quick cash-ins. Video embedded below! “Can Batman Be Happy” In The Lego Batman Movie? Posted by Ben Huber on Jan 11, 2015 in Cinema We’re starting to get a clearer picture of what Phil Lord and Chris Miller have in store for the upcoming Lego Batman Movie. In a recent interview, the writing and directing duo spoke about the film and Lord said, “I think the movie is really exciting because it’s about, ‘Can Batman be happy?’ …

Batman is the ultimate in white people problems.” This is probably true, and definitely funny angle to take for a Batman movie. Miller revealed before that “every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged” which implies we could see cameos or references to Christian Bale, Adam West, and Michael Keaton… which would be grand, I think. “He’s like, ‘oh, I’m so rich and handsome, women like me and I’ve got a Maclaren! Something about my parents!” Suddenly: A LEGO Batman Movie Is On The Horizon Posted by Ben Huber on Oct 11, 2014 in Cinema, Hobbies and Collections Yes, Warner Bros. is taking notice of how much you all loved Batman in the LEGO Movie, and are fast-tracking a LEGO Batman movie. Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on The LEGO Movie, was previously slated to direct the sequel, but now has been switched over to the Batman film. In fact, it appears that the Batman movie will take the 2017 release date of the LEGO Movie sequel entirely, pushing the latter back to another year.

Will Arnett is also returning to voice Batman. This means that Will Arnett will get a solo Batman film before even Ben Affleck. Here’s Your First Look At The LEGO Ninjago Movie (Not Really) Posted by Ben Huber on Jun 23, 2014 in Cinema, Hobbies and Collections The special features from The LEGO Movie keep on pouring out, and this latest one features some self-aware humor in regards to the next LEGO film in production, Ninjago. The ninja-based series of sets has proved popular with kids and has gotten its own TV show already, so a movie isn’t that surprising. However, the cartoon features CGI with the flexible cartoony LEGO figures, rather than the more realistic take that The LEGO Movie featured. I hope they change to the latter. The promo features the “President of Hollywood” selling Emmett on some minor ninja-related changes to the current film. Check it out below! The LEGO Movie Spoof Trailer History Cops Hits YouTube Posted by Ben Huber on Jun 13, 2014 in Cinema, Hobbies and Collections

In the run up to the DVD and Blu-ray release of The LEGO Movie, you’ve got to get people excited, right? That’s why Warner Bros. and the crew behind the film have released one of the silly special features on the disc: a spoof trailer featuring Abraham Lincoln and Michelangelo as History Cops! This appears to be goofy side project made by the crew with all the extra LEGOs they had sitting around, and while it reuses a joke or two from the film itself, it’s still pretty funny. Also, I hope it encourages you to pick up The LEGO Movie, because it’s worth every penny. Check out the trailer below the jump! The LEGO Movie and The Simpsons Collide Posted by Ben Huber on Mar 16, 2014 in Fandom, Hobbies and Collections LEGO Simpsons and The LEGO Movie combine in a LEGO video! How much LEGO can the internet possibly fit into one video? I don’t know, but this video is a big contender. Yes, this is a Simpsons couch gag… made from LEGO… also featuring characters from The LEGO Movie.

It’s pretty clever, and is a good use of the Simpsons house set, too. I suppose this post is also a good place to mention that there will be a LEGO Simpsons episode in the near future — May 4th to be exact. And yes, the whole episode will be done in LEGO. So that should be pretty entertaining! But until then, this fan rendition will do nicely! LEGO Movie Sequel Already Scheduled for 2017 Posted by Ben Huber on Feb 23, 2014 in Cinema Given the runaway success of the LEGO Movie, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised: there’s going to be a sequel. Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan have already been signed on to script it. And, of course, Warner Bros. has scheduled it already for 2017, on May 26th. This is a much bigger billing than the first film’s February opening, so it seems they’ll be getting even more support the second time around. As of yet, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the directors of the first film, have not been confirmed to return. I wouldn’t want to see anyone else in the director’s chair, though.

They’ve done great work so far! Liked The LEGO Movie? Now Catch The Bloopers! Posted by Ben Huber on Feb 16, 2014 in Cinema The LEGO Movie blew away a lot of people, by just how freakin’ good it was! Sure, it’s a big advertisement for LEGOs, but it’s also heartfelt and really funny. It definitely fits into the “see it multiple times” category of film. I’m going to look forward to anything Chris Miller and Phil Lord direct in the future, because they’ve hit it out of the park on everything they’ve done so far. Warner Bros. has released a blooper reel that has been animated to match the dialogue, much like Pixar has been doing. It’s super cute and Will Arnett and Chris Pratt seem to play off each other really well. New Main Trailer for The LEGO Movie – Featuring More Batman Posted by Ben Huber on Nov 2, 2013 in Cinema Alright guys, I know it looks cheesy and really hammy, but I think The LEGO Movie looks really fun. I love that the majority of it is actually made out of LEGO parts — that’s real dedication.

Sure, there’s some CGI and clever manipulation of bricks that couldn’t happen in real life, but still — impressive stuff! The cast also is pretty well-rounded, with some great comedy actors who can also, well, act! The directors are duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are most famous for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I hope it turns out well! First Trailer for The LEGO Movie Arrives Posted by Ben Huber on Jun 21, 2013 in Cinema The long and lengthy development time for the LEGO Movie at first seemed to spell trouble, but then we received a flurry of casting news and it seemed the whole project fell into place. Now, the first trailer for the film has arrived. Taking advantage of Warner Bros. large catalog of licenses, Batman, TMNT, and more all show up in the movie. Liam Neeson, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Chris Pratt, Allison Brie, Nick Offerman, and Will Arnett as freaking Batman are just some of the names that show up here. It looks like a solid family movie, and best of all?
