TT Games is back this month with the release of their latest LEGO title – LEGO Marvel’s Avengers. This will mark the second appearance of Marvel characters in a LEGO game, as the characters were not included in the recently released toys-to-life game LEGO Dimensions. It was disappointing, though not entirely surprising considering TT is owned by Warner Bros. The upcoming LEGO Marvel title, one of our most anticipated of 2016, will not be a sequel to the previously released LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, but will instead adhere to the overarching plotlines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The game will include over 200 playable Marvel characters, including newcomers like Kamala Khan, the new Ms. Marvel. While the game promises to be one of the biggest LEGO titles yet, Warner Bros. Interactive is already looking to the future. Today, the publisher announced two new DLC (downloadable content) packs coming to the game, one based on the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and the other based on the latest Marvel film Ant-Man.

Both packs will be available for free, for a limited time, exclusively on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Available on launch day, the Civil War DLC pack doesn’t contain any new levels, in the interest avoiding spoilers for the film. Instead, the pack only features nine playable characters: Iron Man (MK 46) The Ant-Man DLC pack isn’t scheduled to be released until later in the spring, but the pack will be more substantial than its predecessor. In addition to more playable characters, the pack will feature a new level from the film – most likely with an emphasis on the characters’ shrinking mechanic. The characters included are: The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) Most importantly, players will have the opportunity to fly Ant-Thony around the Ant-Man level as well as bring him into the main game. Perhaps the strangest character to be included in the DLC pack is Cassie Lang, Scott’s young daughter. She does eventually grow up to be a superhero in her own right, code-named Stature, but that character will be included in the main game.

It’s unknown what abilities Cassie will have in the game, but the film version doesn’t have powers so far in the MCU. With the release of these two DLC packs, the total number of films explored in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is now eight – with the other, previously announced titles being both Avengers films, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3. There’s no word yet on other, future additions to the game, but with Doctor Strange coming up later in the year, there’s a good chance the title character will be featured in a DLC pack of his own. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers launches on January 26th, 2016 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC. - 1 year ago LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is getting some free DLC content exclusively for PS4 and PS3 players. The Captain America: Civil War Character Pack will be available at launch on January 26th and includes nine characters featured in the upcoming movie: Captain America Iron Man (Mark 46 armor) Black Panther Winter Soldier Falcon War Machine Scarlet Witch Crossbones Agent 13.

The second is the Ant-Man Character & Level Pack based on the Ant-Man movie, which will be available later this spring. This pack features a level based on part of the film. It also includes these 11 characters: Ant-Man Ant-Man (Hank Pym) Ant-Thony (Flying Ant) Cassie Lang Darren Cross Scott Lang Hank Pym Hope Van Dyne Luis The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) Yellowjacket. LEGO Marvel's Avengers Wiki GuideAt last, I’m free to speak about one of the most exciting things that we’ve been squirreling away on at TT Games for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, outside of everything that already makes the game such a fun and authentic Marvel title (yes, Squirrel Girl reference intended… sorry!). LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is getting some FREE, yes FREE, DLC content exclusively for all PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 players! And yes, believe it or not I’ve managed to keep a lid on this, I’m not quite sure how… but I have. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers already features content from six epic Marvel films (and a plethora of content from the rest of the Marvel Universe, including a ton of characters from Marvel Comics), however, now PlayStation gamers will be able to add content from two more movies to their LEGO Marvel’s Avengers experience.

So, I hear you all asking… what is this content exactly, and what makes it so exciting? (I don’t really hear you asking, it’s just a figure of speech, as I can imagine the thoughts that are in your head). Well, first up we have the Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack, which will be available at launch on 26th January and includes nine characters – YES… NINE CHARACTERS – featured in the upcoming movie: Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armour), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch and my personal favorites, Crossbones and Agent 13. It’s a great pack that will hopefully get everyone as excited as I am about the film. Obviously before you ask, YES, you will be able to take all of these characters into the main game, into the various levels or into the eight different open world locations. The second is the Marvel’s Ant-Man Character & Level Pack, of course based on the Ant-Man movie, which will be available later this spring.

This pack features an awesome level based on a section of the film (which one? I hear you ask… well, that’s top secret so you’ll have to wait and see!). It also has 11 great characters, including Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) and Yellowjacket. We are really bringing Ant-Man and Yellowjacket to life with all the abilities that you’d expect them to have. The team and I here at TT Games are positive you will really enjoy this DLC offering. When I watched the movie with the team, we really enjoyed it, so much so that I went back to watch it again the next day, and then saw the amazing playsets that LEGO created for the film. So to now be able to pair those together and bring them to life in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, it’s yet another reason why this game has been an absolute delight to work on. We really think that this is our best game yet – more humour, more characters, more features, more open world gameplay, more abilities and, of course, more movie content exclusively for PlayStation fans.
