Each terminal has a food option before the security check, however for some terminals this is quite basic (i.e. a coffee counter and not a restaurant). The Tom Bradley Terminal has the most options for pre-security dining.Where can I sit with business associates/clients and have a meal before the security gates? The best option for a more formal meal would be the Daily Grill restaurant, located in the Tom Bradley Terminal. The restaurant also has a private dining room which can be reserved for lunch meetings. Is there somewhere to eat with a view of the runway? Yes - The Proud Bird is located alongside one of LAX’s busiest runways, providing an ideal view of incoming airplanes. Why not share it with your friends... Victor Manuel Arias Cucho had packed the necessities for his trip last month from Australia to Peru, including a My Pillow Pets plush toy and a Lego box.But what really mattered was what was inside the children’s items -- more than 200 protected orchids, in violation of an international wildlife treaty. During a layover at Los Angeles International Airport, federal authorities nipped Cucho's scheme in the bud.Cucho pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Wednesday to a federal offense of illegal trade in a protected species. The Peruvian national, aware that he couldn't bring the orchids into the United States or Peru without proper documentation, concealed them in his luggage, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office. The orchid plants were hidden inside a pillow shaped like a bee, according to photos, a tissue box, a Lego Ninjago box and a plastic tube that stores posters, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Dennis Mitchell of the Environmental and Community Safety Crimes Section.Cucho had been flying from Australia -- after attending an orchid trade show in Sydney -- to Peru on Sept. 24

, when he had the layover at LAX. There, Cucho submitted a customs declaration, in which he denied carrying any plants. He was then sent by customs authorities to a secondary agricultural inspection, and that’s where his illicit cargo was discovered. The orchids are protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. The case against Cucho is the result of an investigation by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen L. Stevenson sentenced Cucho to two years of probation and he was ordered to pay a $7,500 fine.Crash victim ejected from car lands on 5 Freeway sign in GlendaleMalibu-based filmmaker sues Humane Society over $1-million pledgeFire conditions elevated to 'extreme' as gusty winds hit Southern California How far is Legoland (if we rent a car) from LAX? My husband, 7 y.o. son, and 5 y.o. daughter could fly in on Tuesday night, June 10th, then go to the theme park Wednesday, June 11th, and then would need to arrive at the airport by 8 to make our ~11 pm international flight.

It's a long one-- so I would welcome tired kids. Thanks for any advice, It's about 1 hr 40 mins without traffic, 2-3 with traffic (so make sure you're not driving in rush hours). It's just north of San Diego. One destination mentioned in this post You'd definitely want to drive down to Legoland when you arrive Tuesday night, or at least drive part of the way, to avoid the morning traffic and get an early start at the park. In the evening, you'll be hitting a lot of traffic between Legoland and LAX, allow 3 hours which would include the 15 minutes that it takes to return the rental car. Thanks to you both-- you've effectively talked me into keeping life simple! We are going to go to Santa Monica instead. No way do I want to add a 6 hour round-trip drive in LA traffic, to this trip. I appreciate the inside scoop! Santa Monica has some fun amusement rides for kids your age on the Pier. Pacific Park has a Ferris Wheel, kiddy coaster and plenty of things to do that will wear your kids out, so you can have a nice long international flight
