To celebrate, the Pokémon Company shelled out at least $5 million for a shiny commercial to air during Super Bowl Blue (Panthers) and Orange (Broncos). As is now customary, the ad has already been released online, and it’s bringing back strong, fuzzy feelings of staring at my Game Boy for hours at a time (fuzzy, because I lost my vision somewhere in Saffron City).According to a press release: The Pokémon Company International today unveiled a new TV commercial that will air during Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, Feb. 7. The ad, shot in Rio de Janeiro, explores ambition, drive, and training, concepts that every Pokémon Trainer is familiar with. It celebrates the millions of Pokémon fans around the world who will enjoy identifying all of the hidden Pokémon references in the ad. It ends with a call to action for all those who strive to achieve their dreams: Train On. A 30-second version of the ad will be aired at the beginning of the third quarter of Super Bowl 50. February is a good month for Pokémon fans, because on the 27th, Red, Blue, and Yellow will become available for the Nintendo 3DS console.

It’s time to re-learn the lyrics to the “Pokérap.” J/K, you never forgot them. What to Read Next By Sophie Knight and Reiji Murai TOKYO (Reuters) - Nintendo Co Ltd plans to introduce a new kind of games console and software for emerging markets as early as next year, to capitalize on higher entertainment budgets amidst a growing middle class, its chief executive told Reuters on Thursday. Satoru Iwata said Nintendo would develop hardware and games oriented towards consumers with lower incomes and less gaming experience than those in developed countries. Nintendo is searching for new business opportunities as it buckles down and seeks to stem losses on its latest home game console, the Wii U, whose flop has contrasted with blockbuster sales for rival Sony Corp's Playstation 4. Satoru said there were no plans to launch existing hardware such as the Wii U or 3DS in emerging markets, including China. "It would be difficult to enter those markets if we didn't create something new...

For the mass market you need to provide something that most of the middle class can afford," he said in an interview following an analyst briefing on Thursday. Iwata declined to elaborate on the design and specification of such a new device and did not specify the countries where it would be sold, saying only that "emerging markets" referred to those whose gaming potential had not yet been cracked. In China, Iwata said Nintendo would try a different tack to Microsoft Corp. The U.S. rival last month said it would begin selling its Xbox One console through a Chinese partner from September in Shanghai's free trade zone, after the government lifted a ban on the sale of foreign consoles there. "We think the Chinese market has a lot of potential, but I don't think the lifting of the ban has solved all of the difficulties in entering it. We need to study it more," he said, adding that Nintendo would adjust its pricing to fit consumers in emerging nations. "For us, Microsoft's approach wouldn't work."

Iwata also said Nintendo will release high-tech figurines of some of its most popular characters in time for Christmas this year. The company hopes the models, which will be able to send and receive data from games, will also stimulate software sales. But the chief executive said he could not give any more details on a new "non-wearable" platform announced in January that will be oriented towards improving customers' quality of life and encouraging them to stick to healthy pursuits. Nintendo released its full-year earnings On Wednesday, booking its third year in the red after disappointing sales of its Wii U home games console. It has pinned a return to profit this year on new game titles spurring higher sales of the hardware. Shares of Nintendo closed 0.7 percent lower on Thursday, compared with a 0.9 percent rise in the benchmark Nikkei index. As reported by the Hartlepool Mail, last year on the morning of July 12, Ged suffered a brain clot and was drifting in and out of consciousness for a period of 36 hours. When I woke up, I was lying on the floor. I tried to get up and I couldn’t. I couldn’t shout or get to the door or anything,” said Ged. During a moment of consciousness, Ged managed to grab a telephone and dial, what he thought was his friend’s number. However, he accidentally called the number of Mary Readman, a perfect stranger.Mary answered her phone but only heard groans and unintelligible sounds. She thought the heavy breather on the other end of the line was a prankster. Ms. Readman recalled, “I was watching television and it was 9.45 p.m. on the Saturday night when the phone just went. I thought it was a crank call but it was the way [Ged] put the receiver down that got me thinking, ‘Should I call the police?’” According to the Daily Mail, Mary said that it sounded like a land line phone and the caller was having difficulty getting it back on the hook.

The perceptive stranger decided to call Ged back and heard more groans and no replies when she asked if the caller was ok.Readman decided to call the police, and that decision ended up saving Hall’s life. The officers traced the phone number to Ged Hall’s home. They broke down the door and found Ged laying on the ground unconscious. He was then transported to James Cook University Hospital, where he had immediate surgery and eventually three operations over his three-month stay.Mary told the Hartlepool Mail, “I don’t think I did anything remarkable, but the next thing I knew, the police left a message on my phone saying thank you and that they’d got to the address of the occupant who needed medical attention.”Since the summer medical scare, Ged is doing much better and continues to improve. Recently he was able to meet his hero in person. “I owe you everything,” Mr. Hall told his rescuer. “I have made amazing progress in the last six months. They say I will get completely better within two years.
