Lex Luthor obtained a sophisticated alien battlesuit on his adopted home planet of Lexor while he was living there shortly before its total destruction.[1] Subsequently, Luthor used the Lexorian armor in many battles with his archenemy, Superman. The original warsuit was a LexCorp prototype that Superman was forced to fight. However, due to the fact that the untested weapon drove its user insane, Superman was unable to pin anything on Luthor and was forced to pull back. Years later, Luthor obtained a specially made warsuit built on Apokolips and used it when his plan to blame Superman for a falling Kryptonite meteor failed.The suit made him even with Superman, but the Man of Steel was able to fight back and disable it. Luthor though used a Boom Tube to escape capture. The second suit found itself in many hands before Luthor regained it. However, it was destroyed by Superboy-Prime. Luthor designed a sleeker version in his attempt to hunt down the Black Ring. Lex Luthor had somehow acquired Kryptonian power armor during his shadow conflict with Superman, which he reverse-engineered to enhance the technology his company had created.
Around about the time he got out of prison, he began assessing the armor scientists, who had been following a plan of his to buy up companies who were developing technology in the field and incorporating the best designs into a suit of power armor capable of defeating Superman. He was short one component - a solar battery - when the world was attacked by the Crime Syndicate. Arming himself, Luthor put on the almost-complete suit and rallied a group to claim victory, saving the lives of Superman and the Justice League in the process. After the Darkseid War, Lex acquired a Motherbox and created a new Warsuit based of Superman. When Kal-El (Prime Earth) die, using his warsuit, he decide to take on the mantle of Superman and becoming the new protector of Metropolis. The character with the most costume changes has been Batman, who has been shown in his regular bat suit, an armored suit, a desert duster, and of course as his alter ego Bruce Wayne. With as many costumes as Batman gets to wear, it seems a little unfair that other characters in the movie don’t get in on the wardrobe action. However, newly surfaced images of some Batman V Superman action figures provides a hint that maybe Batman isn’t the only one with some additional outfits after all. The image appears as part of a gallery posted to the Idle Hands blog, and shows Lex Luthor in battle armor that makes Batman’s look downright understated in comparison.
The blog post goes on to conjecture that that “there’s a 75% chance we get to see this battle between Robo-Lex and both Superman and Batman,” although there’s also a possibility that the toy is just a toy and the suit does not actually make an appearance in the movie. The image gallery shows a number of other outfits that don’t seem likely make an appearance in the movie, such as a “Gauntlet Assault Batman” in a gold suit and green gloves. That lends credence to the idea that the toy line is not necessarily true to the movie. After all, the more variations on Batman the toy manufacturer releases, the more toys they are able to sell. It’s worth noting that the action figures for Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman do not appear to have the breadth of variation that Batman has. However, those heroes are also not generally known for extensive use of gadgetry like he is. Will Batman and Superman be taking on a heavily armored Lex Luthor at some point in Batman v Superman?
