is a set released in . It contains a surface-based outpost with a spaceship, a spare cockpit, a rover and five 's. This is the largest Blacktron Future Generation set, as well as the only base of this subtheme. The Alpha Centauri Outpost is made up of two parts. One of them is a landing baseplate, the other one a "base" area. The Base area is built on a baseplate with a slope path and a dpression in the centre. In the corner on one side is a double laser. In the front section of the base is a pair of 8x8 grille plates. Under them are two transparent neon green windows and beneath these are lights or scanners. In the base area is a Light & Sound light array with transparent red lights. Leading down into the depression is a staircase. A 8x8 grille is placed over the depression and can be lifted via a pair of hinges. In the centre of the base is a storage box. On the other side of the base is another pair of lasers overlooking the landing pad. Their are two large transparent green windows with the Blacktron Future Generation logo on them.

They connect to two large dishes. There are also two tubes and a pair of lights near the dishes. The landing pad section is a flat, octagonal landing pattern baseplate. There are four lines of lights, alternating between transparent red and transparent green. It is connected to the base section by a laser and a double laser. The large Blacktron ship lands on this section of the base. The Alpha Centauri Outpost comes with three vehicles. Two of these are spacecraft and one is a land rover. The rover is four wheeled with a rocket in back and two laser guns. In front are a pair of lights and a grille. The first spacecraft, which is the smaller one, has an array of lasers. It contains a sealed cockpit. It is black and transparent green. The second ship is larger. It is in fact a section of the smaller ship, which can attach to the long bar at its front. The larger section has two large rocket boosters. It has a sealed storage area/crew area. On top of the ship are two more thrusters, a radar dish, and an antenna.

For weaponry the section has two large lasers and two small lasers. The Alpha Centauri Outpost arrives with five Blacktron Future Generation Astronauts. They are all identical, with white torsos with the green B Blacktron logo, black arms and hands, black legs, and a smiling face. They each wear a black jetpack and a black helmet with a transparent neon green visor. The Alpha Centauri Outpost is the base of Blacktron Future Generation. Blacktron Future Generation Astronaut (x5)May 18th 2013 at 7:35PM A chap who calls himself "Sheepo" has a habit of making custom creations out of Lego bits. These aren't kits, these are the expressions of his own automotive imagination using traditional Lego and Lego Technic parts. His year so far seems mostly devoted to suspension builds and a Land Rover Defender, but his latest work is a Caterham Seven. Sheepo keeps his builds close to their inspirations, this Seven constructed with working steering, double-wishbone front suspension and Ackerman geometry in front, a three-link De Dion rear suspension in back and disc brakes.

A bit of liberty has gone into the gearbox, which is a five-speed sequential unit plus reverse. At one-seventh scale it is 45 centimeters long, has 2,500 parts and five motors. It is also a Chapman-approved lightweight at just 2.2 kilograms. Check it out in the video below and the high-res gallery of images above. The first Range Rover hybrids have arrived in the form of the Range Rover Hybrid and Sport HybridJust a few weeks after putting its Electric Defender through the rigors of field testing, Land Rover is highlighting its first-ever hybrid models. The Range Rover Hybrid and Range Rover Hybrid Sport will have a much surer track to market than the E-Defender prototype. In fact, they'll be available for order in less than a month. While we've seen a number of SUVs get the hybrid treatment over the years, they've all been of the soccer mom-piloted, mall-shuttle variety. The Range Rover may see plenty of use for that too, but it's the first hybridized SUV model we can recall that regularly finds its way onto "best off-road SUVs" lists.

Competitor off-roaders from the likes of Jeep and Toyota have yet to get hybrid variants. In case you're still questioning the off-road credentials of the hybrid Land Rover models, Land Rover won't waste any time in attempting to change your mind. It is embarking immediately on a 10,000-mile (16,000-km), 12-country "Silk Trail 2013" expedition with three Range Rover Hybrids. The company says that these are the first hybrids to ever attempt this rugged inter-continental journey, which will run from Land Rover's home base in Solihull, UK to the Mumbai, India headquarters of parent company Tata Motors over the course of nearly two months."We are excited to introduce the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Hybrids, the world’s first hybrid SUVs with legendary Land Rover capability," says John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director. "The addition of a smooth electric drive enhances refinement, cuts CO2 emissions and delivers staggering performance on a par with our SDV8 engine."The Range Rover hybrids combine a 3.0-liter turbo diesel V6 engine with a 47-hp (35-kW) electric motor that's integrated into the eight-speed ZF transmission.

The hybrid system, which weighs in at 265 lb (120 kg), includes lithium-ion batteries, which are charged via regenerative braking, and an inverter. By mounting the battery pack below the floor, Land Rover says it is able to maintain the same amount of passenger and cargo space as the standard Range Rover. The models offer typical Range Rover off-road capabilities and include four-wheel-drive with Terrain Response 2.The engine and motor combine to arm the wheels with 335 hp and a class-leading heap of 516 lb-ft of torque, giving the new Range Rover Hybrid and Sport Hybrid the ability to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under seven seconds before topping out at 135 mph (218 km/h) and 140 mph (225 km/h)On the more fuel-frugal end of performance, in driver-selectable EV mode the hybrids offer a mile (1.6 km) of pure-electric driving at speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/h). Land Rover estimates that the hybrid system will boost fuel economy up to 44.1 mpg combined while cutting CO2 emissions by 26 percent down to 169 g/km.
