(It was only bumped to fourth when Star Wars: The Force Awakens rolled in at the end of last year.) But everyone knows that the true measure of a film’s success is dictated by whether or not it has been made into a LEGO set. (Eat your heart out, Citizen Kane!) Extra kudos if a LEGO-styled video game and/or children’s parody movie have also been made. LEGO Jurassic World toy sets and video games have been available since the film’s release a year ago.

But for those looking for slightly friendlier dino-massacre action, or simply an excuse to enjoy the story once more in a sillier form, your wish will soon be granted. Universal Studios has released the first trailer (see above) for LEGO Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape. The short will be released in five parts online, starting October 3rd, and will then be compiled in a special Jurassic World 2-pack, DVD release. Here is the official plot synopsis: In LEGO® Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape, two of the most beloved brands of all time come together like never before! When Simon Masrani accidentally destroys one of the park’s main attractions (he really should learn how to fly that helicopter), he calls upon his trusted employee Claire to save the day. After some quick dino-DNA building in Dr. Wu’s lab, Claire comes up with the perfect solution that is sure to delight Masrani and kids everywhere – the Indominus rex™– the smartest, biggest and scariest hot dog-loving hybrid dinosaur ever created!

Unfortunately, disaster strikes after the Indominus eats all the hot dogs and escapes from its pen in a hungry rage. It’s now up to the talented and rugged dinosaur trainer Owen Grady to save the day and battle the Indominus rex™ in an epic, action-packed finale! While this release clearly isn’t aiming for the same league as Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s The LEGO Movie, it nonetheless should provide an amusing distraction for kids, big and small. Perhaps it will even serve as a warm-up for those too small for the scarier, live-action version films. Stay tuned to Screen Rant for updates on the LEGOfication of all your favorite movie franchises. LEGO Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape – Part 1 will release online October 3, 2016, with Parts 2-5 coming in the subsequent days. The entire story will be released as part of a Jurassic World DVD bundle on October 18, 2016. Want to relive the journey, the scope, the magic of Jurassic World, the third highest-grossing movie of all time? Now you can — in Lego form. Thanks to the efforts of amateur stop-motion and fantasy video-makers Brotherhood Workshop, the entire 124-minute-long film has been cut down to 90 seconds and re-imagined with Legos. “Teens think dinosaurs are lame, so we’re making hybrids now,” exclaims Lego Bryce Dallas Howard. Chris Pratt’s Lego Owen may not be “as cool as Star-Lord” — though, that’s up for debate — but he still knows how to rally the raptors and get the girl before the credits roll. Watch the video below. The folks behind Brotherhood Workshop hope to one day use their talents to make feature films, but for now they’ll continue making viral hits. They were also hired by the Lego Group to make a “day in the life” video for Lego Jurassic World. If you care to find out how they work their stop-motion magic, check out their making-of video below.
