At last, I’m free to speak about one of the most exciting things that we’ve been squirreling away on at TT Games for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, outside of everything that already makes the game such a fun and authentic Marvel title (Yes, Squirrel Girl reference intended… sorry!). LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is getting some free DLC content exclusively for all PS4 and PS3 players. What’s even more awesome is that this content is based on the brilliant Marvel’s Ant-Man movie and also one of my most anticipated films of 2016, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. And yes, believe it or not I’ve managed to keep a lid on this. I’m not quite sure how… but I have. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers already features content from six epic Marvel films (and a plethora of content from the rest of the Marvel Universe, including a ton of characters from Marvel Comics), however, now PlayStation gamers will be able to add content from two more movies to their experience. So, I hear you all asking: what is this content exactly, and what makes it so exciting?

Well, first up we have the Captain America: Civil War Character Pack, which will be available at launch on January 26th and includes nine characters — yes, nine characters — featured in the upcoming movie: Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch and my personal favorites, Crossbones and Agent 13. It’s a great pack that will hopefully get everyone as excited as I am about the film. Obviously before you ask, yes, you will be able to take all of these characters into the main game, into the various levels or into the eight different open world locations. The second is the Ant-Man Character & Level Pack, of course based on the Ant-Man movie, which will be available later this spring. This pack features an awesome level based on a section of the film. It also has eleven great characters, including Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), and Yellowjacket.

We are really bringing Ant-Man and Yellowjacket to life with all the abilities that you’d expect them to have. The team and I here at TT Games are positive you will really enjoy this DLC offering. But, not only are we bringing you the characters and the level content, the part of this pack I’m most excited about… You’ll be able to fly around on Ant-Thony within the DLC level and then into the main game as well. When I watched the movie with the team, we really enjoyed it, so much so that I went back to watch it again the next day, and then saw the amazing playsets that LEGO created for the film so to now be able to pair those together and bring them to life in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is yet another reason why this game has been an absolute delight to work on. In addition to the movie and comic content in the game, we’re really looking forward to hearing what you all think of the many new features in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, specifically the Avengers Team-Ups. When you think of the Avengers, you think of teamwork, pulling together against adversity as a team.

So, now you can team-up characters to perform incredible combo moves to take down the bad guys. Teaming up core Avengers results in unique moves based on the pairing so we hope you enjoy trying out all of the various combinations to see which is your favorite. For us, it’s yet another reason why LEGO Marvel’s Avengers has been such a pleasure to develop. All of us on the team here are Marvel fans so make sure you look out for the various references and nods we’ve put into the game to make it the most authentic and fun experience. We think that this is our best game yet — more humor, more characters, more features, more open world gameplay, more abilities, and of course, more movie content exclusively for PlayStation fans. On behalf of myself and the team, we hope you have many hours of enjoyment when you play LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, and if you love it as much as we think you will, keep an eye out for the season pass content that we’ll be bringing your way featuring classic comic content as well as content from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

LEGO continues to do nice things with polybags, and whether you get them as "free with purchase" bonuses or pick them up at retail, you tend to end up with something you can really be happy with, even though it's small. Video: LEGO Super Heroes Capt. America's Motorcycle polybag! I almost missed out on this one, but thankfully a fellow gamer (who isn't a LEGO fan) had my back and hooked me up with this Gamestop preorder exclusive freebie. Video: LEGO Iron Man Gamestop exclusive Silver Centurion opened! Here's another of LEGO's new skyline/cityscape sub-theme of Architecture.  I really think these make great space-conscious display pieces. Video: LEGO Architecture Berlin cityscape review! Yep, I definitely now wish I had gotten this sooner :)  It's strange that I didn't, considering how much I loved the game.  The second game was very enjoyable too, but the story was more of a stretch and it had some framerate issues.  Luckily LEGO never has to worry about stuff like that.

Video: LEGO Star Wars Rogue Shadow review! I definitely need to start on my first skyscraper soon, but this is a project that's been waiting to be finished for far too long, and it's going to tie in some elements on both sides of my downtown area.  Plus, I got a spark of natural motivation to work on the thing, so there's no better time than now to push forward and make it whole. Video: LEGO Train Station MOC update #1! This is the last of the newest Elves sets for now.  There's another release wave coming pertaining to this particular dragon-focused story arc, and that one will include the big dragon.  This set has one of the very, very little dragons. Video: LEGO Elves Emily Jones & the Baby Wind Dragon review! So technically this is a Genisys set, but if you prefer the classics you can easily place this in the T2 timeline.  Funny-lookin' lil desk model. Video: Mega Bloks Kubros buildable Terminator Genisys T-800 review! Too early for flashback Friday or even throwback Thursday?

I previously looked at the first official LEGO A-Wing model, now here's the 'B'. Video: LEGO Star Wars B-Wing & Rebel Control Center from 2000! It feels like ages since this set was first unveiled, and I've seen it on Amazon for ridiculous prices for probably a couple of months now.  Finally it showed up at a brick & mortar shop in my region and I was happy to pick it up. Video: Mega Bloks Call of Duty Office Zombies Mob review! You may have seen the new mango-colored bike from this set show up in my bike shop MOC already, but before buttoning up that build I did give the original a little review.  There's more to like in here, including more components that will eventually show up in my city! Video: LEGO Friends birthday Party Train review! Thankfully it only took a few days to get a mistake corrected, so now I'm finally able to present all 18 of the official LEGO Disney collectible minifigures. Video: LEGO Disney Minifigures series reviewed! Mega Bloks' acquisition of the Star Trek license for brick-based building sets & compatible miniature figures was announced many months ago, but I didn't realize how far they would delve into the classic universe and how specific the subjects of their builds would be.

Some interesting stuff here. Video: Mega Bloks Star Trek buildable Transporter Room set review! You've watched this progress on YouTube & Instagram, and now it's all done.  I got the roof on and finished up a few small details with the help of recently-acquired parts, and now the building gets to be displayed for a long, long time in New JANG City. Video: Custom LEGO ice cream & bike shop & arcade complete! Tip of the iceberg?  This is the first brand new Mega Bloks Halo series set I've seen for sale in months, and hopefully its appearance fortells the coming of the next full wave. Video: Mega Bloks Halo Spartan IV Battle Pack III review Another "sprint" of work pushed the other side of the upper floor of this building from sad & bare to nearly complete. Video: Custom LEGO ice cream & bike shop & arcade progress #5 The latest set to make it through and out of the often controversial machine known as LEGO Ideas is something rather unlike any of the previous winners.

This is a really nice thing to do in LEGO and the build is pretty quick & easy.  There are two flaws, though, one very small, and the other pretty significant. Video: LEGO Ideas Maze review! When it comes to LEGO's Star Wars line, a set from the year 2000 can be actually be considered "classic."  This here is the first official model of the iconic, agile little single-seat A-Wing starfighter. Video: LEGO Star Wars A-Wing Fighter from 2000 reviewed! Here's something from a specific segment I've probably underserved up to this point -- classic brick-based Technic sets.  Spoiler alert:  This "bike" set came with three wheels & tires... Video: LEGO Technic Nitro GTX Bike from 1995 reviewed! It feels like it wasn't long ago when these were last in stores.  Impressive how many series they've made & sold out of in such a short period of time. Video: LEGO Series 6 Collectible Minifigs from 2012 reviewed! When I made my Destiny Sparrow MOC back in 2014, I was 100% certain there would never be any official plastic brick-based toys made for the franchise.

People (myself included) were already asking for Mega Bloks to apply their magic to Bungie's latest big game, but hopes were between low & non-existant.  The game was very polarizing in its initial incarnation and I, myself, lapsed fairly quickly.  Destiny managed to hold onto a very strong core fanbase, though, and subsequent expansions & updates improved practically every aspect. In February 2016, Mega Bloks pleasantly surprised a ton of folks with the announcement that not only had they acquired the Destiny license, but they already had a first wave of sets in production, with more to follow later.  Getting the first sets in my hands rekindled my interest in the game and I've since happily resumed playing. Video: Mega Bloks official vs. custom LEGO Destiny S-10V Sparrow With all of the released LEGO Angry Birds sets reviewed, here's every bird & pig figures extracted out and looked at together. Video: All LEGO Angry Birds figures together! Two more of the highly stylized Kubros from Mega Bloks here, this time the Masters of the Universe pair from the first release wave.

Between the two, I definitely prefer Skeletor. Video: Mega Bloks Kubros He-Man & Skeletor buildable collectible reviews! Odd, the smallest set in the wave has far & above the highest price/part ratio.  In spite of that, with two figures and a very nicely-designed & decent-sized vehicle, I'm satisfied with the value. Video: LEGO Angry Birds Piggy Car Escape review! Video: LEGO Angry Birds Piggy Plane Attack review! This set takes a modest parts count and stretches it out over a nice & large space, incorporating a nice variety of different styles of action/play features that are very appropriate to the theme. Video: LEGO Angry Birds Pig City Teardown review! As a gamer who was a child of the 80s, I badly miss video game arcades.  It should come as no surprise, then, that I've been planning for a long, long time to have an arcade in my LEGO city.  Space being such a difficult thing to come by, fate relegated the realization of this goal to the upper floor of half of a building, but I'll take what I can get!
