Hold onto to your seats because LEGO has just announced its newest Architecture Series release – and it’s a model of Jørn Utzon‘s iconic Sydney Opera House! The beautiful building – which is a landmark for both Australia and opera house design – is the 12th project in the LEGO architecture series, and it joins the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water, the Burj Dubai and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House. The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center located on the Sydney waterfront. It was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, finally opening in 1973 after a long gestation starting with his competition-winning design in 1957. Utzon received the Pritzker Prize in 2003, and the Pritzker Prize citation assocaited with his award noted: “There is no doubt that the Sydney Opera House is his masterpiece. It is one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century, an image of great beauty that has become known throughout the world – a symbol for not only a city, but a whole country and continent.”

LEGO’s Architectural series was created to inspire aspiring architects, engineers, designers, as well as children of all ages. The Sydney Opera House kit will be available in stores March 1st and retails at $39.99.If you haven't yet been down to the amazing Art Of The Brick: DC Comics exhibition at the PowerHouse Museum in Sydney, here's your chance. Art Of The Brick: DC Comics is an offshoot of Lego artist Nathan Sawaya's art exhibition, who created it as an homage to his favourite heroes. It features statues and works on DC's big three - Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, as well as ones structured around themes, as well as galleries dedicated to specific themes. Spread across 10 galleries there are numerous statues, a 5 metre batmobile and even some abstract works. There are only a couple of weeks left to see the exhibition, before it moves on to its next location on the 1st of May. If you still aren't convinced, Hayley Williams attended the launch and took some amazing photos you can check out.The Dark Side has won. Christmas is coming, and the gargantuan marketing steamroller that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming with it. There’s going to be so much cheaply-produced Star Wars-branded junk spilling out of shopping centre aisles this December, even the hardiest parents are going to wind up with a shitty plastic light saber or Lego Death Star kit in the trolley if it shuts little Jayden up for two blissful minutes.

To maximise publicity and eventual weary-mum dollars, Lucasfilm and Disney are launching what is hopefully described as “the world’s first ever global live toy unboxing event,” which sounds a lot more exciting than it actually is. It’s basically an eighteen-hour livestreamed YouTube video of people in various cities unveiling the various merch goodies Star Wars nerds will be able to get their mitts on before the movie comes out. There’s even a hype video, if middle-aged marketing executives talking up how much money you’re going to give them is your thing: It starts in Sydney early on the morning of Thursday, September 3 — here’s a timetable if you suddenly have to take a day off work — and as a taste of what’s about to be unleashed on this benighted world, unparalleled arbiters of footwear style Crocs have unveiled their own Star Wars-themed shoe, taking Chewbacca as their inspiration. Note the little picture of Chewy’s face on the side — it’s there so everyone will know you’re wearing official Star Wars merch and not just any old nightmarish house slipper with holes punched in it.

I like how if you squint even a little bit, the front end of the shoe looks like a face with teeth clenched in the agony of its own existence. For the low, low price of $59.99, you can give your feet the plastic, furry, bandoliered home they’ve been aching for ever since they gave up on life along with the rest of you.
