Carbon-Freezing Chamber Reviews - page 2Aside from the main plot, we know precious little about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first spinoff revolves around a group of Rebel soldiers who set out to steal plans for the Death Star. Aside from that, no official characters have been revealed. We know the cast, but not whom they are playing. Then there are the rumors that a number of iconic Star Wars characters will appear at some point in the movie. Darth Vader is said to have a sizable role. And a young Han Solo is expected to make a cameo. But now, we have what could be proof that another original trilogy character may be showing up in some capacity.Yes, it sounds like Boba Fett is going to be showing up at some point in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, even though the character is heavily rumored to be getting his own spinoff in 2020.

Even if Boba doesn't show his face, it seems certainly possible that his iconic ship the Slave-1 will be doing a flyby. The idea that Boba Fett is showing up in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is not a new one. In fact, the bounty hunter has been rumored to be part of the story since it was announced. Now there is evidence to support that. The Nuremberg Toy Fair has been ongoing this past weekend, and the LEGO presentation used a photo of the Slave-1 to represent the Rogue One LEGO sets coming our way soon. While this was an official presentation, there was no explanation as to why the Slave-1 was being used as a placeholder for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. And it's possible they just thought it was a cool Star Wars photo to use. The fact that the Slave-1 is being used during this presentation shouldn't be taken as any kind of confirmation that Boba Fett will actually show up.The Slave-1 in the photo has a slightly different paint job. The ship has been around for awhile, and belonged to Boba's dad Jango Fett before the infamous bounty hunter claimed it as his own.

Both Boba and his dad have made numerous modifications to the ship throughout the years. It wouldn't be so weird if the ship got a new paint job.One thing that can't be overlooked is that perhaps this is not the Slave-1, but just a ship of the same model. The Slave-1 is a Kurat Systems Engineering Firespray-class interceptor, and during the timeline shown in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the vehicle is out of date. There aren't too many of these flying around the galaxy. There is also some speculation that another third party has stolen the Slave-1 and is in possession of it during Rogue One, much like we saw with the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.Another rumor that has been floating around is that Felicity Jones, who is said to be playing Rebel pilot Lyra Erso, is actually Boba Fett's daughter. Other rumors claim that she is actually the daughter of Mads Mikkelsen's character. Perhaps Lyra Erso is borrowing her dad's ride? And then, perhaps, as we've seen with other toys released in conjunction with the movie, it's not in the film at all.

Perhaps the first Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer will drop during Super Bowl 50, and we'll learn more than. Take a look at the photo of Slave-1 in question.More #LEGO#StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg! #RogueOne & a Droid Tales-esque series titled The Freemaker Adventures. This only intensified when we learned about the standalone Star Wars Story movies that will a look at that far, far away galaxy outside of the main Episode narrative.

One character in particular that has been discussed at great length is fan favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett. He’ll reportedly get his own standalone movie, but there have been rumors he could show up elsewhere as well. A new picture that just hit the airwaves that could indicate that we’ll see him sooner rather than later, perhaps even in Star Wars: Rogue One later this year. More #LEGO #StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg! Toys have often provided spoilers about upcoming movies, especially in the Star Wars universe—that’s where we first learned about Tasu Leech in The Force Awakens, among others. This weekend there’s a toy fair going on in Nuremberg, Germany. We already saw some cool new looks at a few costumes from the film, but a new image of the upcoming Rogue One LEGO set shows something very interesting: Boba Fett’s ship, Slave 1. Granted, this doesn’t prove anything concretely, but it’s interesting to consider. Sure, the paint job appears to be a bit different, but Slave 1 has been around for a while.

It originally belonged to Boba Fett’s father (or clone DNA donor), Jango Fett, who stole it (you can see this in the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter), and they have both made substantial modifications to it over the years. Stands to reason it could have acquired a new coat of paint somewhere along the line, especially to disguise it. It could be purely coincidental and just be another ship of the same make. However, Slave 1 is Kurat Systems Engineering Firespray-class interceptor, which is an out-of-date craft. Basically, there aren’t many of these bad boys kicking around out there, and it would be a huge coincidence for one to just randomly show up in Rogue One. It’s also possible someone else flies Slave 1 in Star Wars: Rogue One. As we saw in with the Millennium Falcon in The Force Awakens, there’s a criminal element out there in the galaxy, and sometimes ships get stolen. And Boba Fett certainly doesn’t run with the most law-abiding crowd. Rogue One is set between the events of the prequels in the original trilogy, just before A New Hope, and that leaves plenty of time for him to lose his ship and get it back before we see it in The Empire Strikes Back.

Pity the fool who stole Boba Fett’s ship. There have also been rumors that Felicity Jones’s character, possibly named Lyra Erso, is Boba Fett’s daughter. That speculation has largely been supplanted by claims that she’s Mads Mikkelsen’s daughter, but it’s something that’s out there. Perhaps she takes dear old dad’s ship out for a joyride. We’ve all done that. Again, none of this proves anything. It wouldn’t be the first time a toy line for a movie includes something that isn’t actually in the film. But with the timeline, the persistent rumors that the plot involves bounty hunters, and now this, I wouldn’t be totally shocked to see Boba Fett show up in Rogue One. The plot revolves around the theft of the plans for the first Death Star, so it’s easy to envision a situation where Darth Vader or someone dispatches a gang of bounty hunters to get them back. We’ve seen Vader lean on their services elsewhere. However this shakes out, we likely won’t find out until Star Wars: Rogue One opens on December 16.
