However there are other “companies” there that also sell what appears to be LEGO but in reality, they’re just cheap knock-offs from China. Stephen went around to a few booths showing what products they’re selling and found there were about “20-30” booths selling all kinds of counterfeit LEGO from bricks to minifigures. As LEGO fans, we know which minifigures are legit and which are not but parents and kids who aren’t enthusiasts can’t really tell the difference because they look so similar and are priced way cheaper. As one person at these booths states about selling fake LEGO, That statements bugs me because they’re all about the money.

Notice they don’t even use the correct terminology when describing where the minifigures are standing on as they only call it “the thing.” Not a stand or on studs but “the thing.” Note that this was at New York Comic Con, one of the largest fan conventions in the US. This is my first time hearing about booths selling fake LEGO products at these conventions as I don’t see them at San Diego Comic Con but then again, they are different organizers so they probably don’t care what is sold there. As LEGO keeps growing bigger and bigger, the more likely companies in China will continue to churn out these counterfeits. It wasn’t that too long ago that Huw over on Brickset did a review on some. There’s really no way to stop them as trademark and copyright laws don’t work over there. At least there will be a new factory being built in China to try to combat this. Also keep in mind the difference between legit custom minifigures and knockoffs. Real custom minifigures use real LEGO products with modifications to them whether in printing, accessories, etc.

Knockoffs use cheap plastic and paint and the quality is subpar and could be potentially dangerous for younger children to play with. Even at Toys R Us, you can’t really be too careful as they’re also selling some fake LEGO Racers stuff on the endcaps. If you’re going to these conventions or just shopping in general and find what appears to be LEGO, just use some due diligence and make sure that you’re getting the real thing. If you’re worried or not sure, just send me a quick message. The idea of a massive exhibition put on by a certified Lego professional (yes that is a real job) is exciting many Perth fans. But the price is making some wish they could pay with toy money. With entry costing $41.90 for an adult, and a children's ticket priced at $26.90, the fee appears to be putting many off attending the exhibition known as The Brick Man Experience - The Complete Collection by Ryan McNaught. The event will be held at Perth's Elizabeth Quay from April 7-20.Sixty original works will be featured along with their own unique behind the scenes story

, as well as interactive building zones.   told WAtoday she thought the price was "exorbitant". "The price to get you 90 minutes at the Brick Man Experience, which is not hands on for the most part, are on par with a full day at Legoland where it is full of rides, attractions, similar all-Lego creations, building halls where you can create for hours, and playgrounds, all Lego themed," she said."Granted, you'd have to fly to Malaysia to get there." She said her family would not be going to Brick Man, "which is a shame because we are Lego obsessed" she said."I can't justify that much money for such a short space of time to purely look at something we could look at elsewhere for free," Ms Flett said. She has a five-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter. "I'm aware my two-year-old would not be charged admission, but I believe her 'enthusiasm' would lend itself to not seeing the full exhibit and just playing in the one building area for the full 90 minutes... and we can do that for free at my house," she said.

Even Lego fanatics Lindsey Haggerty and Craig McCartney, who have Lego alter egos whose exploits are posted on a Facebook page called Lego Travellers said they thought the price was "a bit steep".The couple, originally from Scotland, started travelling with their Lego alter egos in 2013 and photographing their journeys, before relocating to Perth in 2014.The couple whose Facebook page has more than 15,000 likes, documents the travels of the Lego versions of Ms Haggerty and Mr McCarthy.Ms Haggerty said while she thought the entry price was a bit high she would still be going along to the exhibition."For us, it'll probably be worth it."Ant Hampel, director of Alive Events Agency which is bringing the event to Perth, said despite the high cost of bringing the exhibition to Perth, ticket prices for the event were the same as those for the recent east coast exhibitions."Due to local demand, we have worked extremely hard for several months to be able to bring the exhibition to Perth," he said.

"With substantial shipping and production costs, we are proud that we have been able to keep the ticket prices in-line with the east coast tour.  "The exhibition has travelled to Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane with sold out success and wonderful reviews.  The Brick Man Experience is officially the largest LEGO model exhibition in Australia.  Family passes can be purchased for under $100 ($99.90 for a family of four) making it a fantastic event for the whole family to enjoy, and terrific value."Ant-Man Final Battle28 ReviewsFIND MORE PRODUCTS LIKE THISMarvel Super HeroesCapture Yellowjacket in the flying ant’s pincers! For your first Gold Brick, head to the eastern wing of the S.H.I.E.L.D.
