4743 Ice Blade is an Alpha Team set released in 2004. The Ice Blade, which is a long and narrow vehicle, is piloted by Charge and comes with an Ice Orb. Its alpha mode form is the IC-2Do not modify it. Challenge Ogel on land and in the air! The Alpha Team Ice Blade knifes across the frozen landscape, hunting for ice orbs and trying to outrace agents of Ogel. When the enemy closes in, Charge initiates Alpha mode and turns the Ice Blade into a stealth helicopter. Now it's Alpha Team's turn to strike for justice! Alpha Team is a building toy line manufactured by Lego, first released in 2001 and discontinued in 2005. Alpha Team started out as a basic top secret group, under the leadership of Dash Justice. At that time, Ogel had made evil orbs that could turn ordinary civilians into mindless drones to serve as his slaves. However, he was defeated when Alpha Team entered the picture and broke the power of the evil orbs to restore the drones back to normal.
They captured Ogel and destroyed the orb machine (found in the Alpha Team video game). However, Ogel managed to escape. In 2002, Alpha Team changed slightly. The toyline is known as: Mission Deep Sea. Ogel is back with more sinister looking drones that remained from the year 2001. Ogel also had re-engineered the evil orb so that it causes mutations and uses it to mutate sea creatures to serve him. Ogel's left hand was replaced by a transparent red hook that can still hold things (the Lego minifigure). It is uncertain of how he got the red hook. Rumor has it that he lost his left hand while battling Alpha Team. Alpha Team's helper, TeeVee (a television with legs and antennae) can now turn into a deep sea rover for small openings and scouting around the sea embankment. In the webtoon, Into the Deep, Ogel's sinister plan for the mutant sea animals was destroyed when Dash reversed the orb factory controls, thus reverting all the sea animals back to normal. However, Ogel escaped again by detaching the cockpit on his Mutant Squid vehicle.
Alpha Team did not appear this year, with only a promotional set, "Dash The Diver", being released. Alpha Team went into a massive revision. The Alpha Team symbol was changed, Crunch and Cam were replaced by Diamond Tooth and Arrow (respectively), and Ogel replaced his red hook with a transparent blue hook. Alpha Team has more tech than usual. Their vehicles have a new feature: they can initiate Alpha Mode, a feature that transforms one vehicle to another without disassembling and rebuilding. This time, Ogel's plan has gone from mind controlling to causing damage to the world. His plan was to freeze the world at his base in Antarctica with ice orbs, and as revealed later, to freeze time itself as well. Ice Orbs are completely different from the evil orbs Ogel made earlier, as they no longer cause mutations/brainwashing, but instead freeze everything on touch. Alpha Team tracked him down to Antarctica and ended up battling each other. While Alpha Team raced to Ogel's fortress in a desperate gamble to stop him from freezing time, Ogel ended up freezing almost all of Alpha Team.
However, Charge and TeeVee couldn't be found in the iceboxes. When all hope was lost, drones started to behave randomly and they began to steal interesting landmarks. Then Zed, a special agent of Alpha Team, arrived at Antarctica. He melted the ice around the other agents and set off on his own mission. While the other agents were stopping Ogel's drones, Ogel appeared in the Scorpion Orb Launcher, his own vehicle that could convert into the Viper Escape. Ogel and Zed battled. At the same time, the Lego Magazine had invited fans to write their own stories of who won and what will happen next. The Lego Magazine didn't show the results, but it was assumed that Zed had won the conflict and the world was restored to normal. While the Lego Company didn't give the 2004 subtheme an official name, (like Mission Deep Sea) fans coined the name "Mission Deep Freeze" for the series. An Evil Orb is Ogel's main tool for all the missions. There are three types. Ogel has had several bases in the series.
Ogel has several bases in the form of LEGO sets. All of his hideouts have a big skull on them . This is where ice orbs are created and where Ogel hatches the plan to freeze the world. In the set, it includes Ogel, two drones, and two Alpha team agents: Arrow and Dash. The set also includes the Solar Speeder: the Alpha team scout vehicle equipped with only a missile launcher that can open the gate of Ogel's fortress. Main article: Lego Alpha Team (video game) A video game adaption, Lego Alpha Team, was developed by Digital Domain and published by Lego Media in September 2000 for Microsoft Windows, with a Game Boy Color version developed by Climax Studios and published in November of the same year. In 2002 werd Alpha Team veranderd, het werd uitgebracht onder de naam: Mission Deep Sea. Ogel is terug met nog ergere 'drones'. Ogel heeft de orbs aangepast zodat zeewezens kunnen worden veranderd in mutanten. Ogels linkerhand werd vervangen door een transparante rode haak. Volgens geruchten is hij zijn hand verloren in gevechten met Alpha Team. Alpha Teams hulpmiddel TeeVee (een televisie met benen en een antenne) kan ook dienstdoen als verkenningsvoertuig voor onder water. In een filmpje op de website van LEGO werd het plan van Ogel om alle zeewezens in mutanten te veranderen gedwarsboomd door Dash.
Hij draaide de orbfabrieksmachines om waardoor alle zeewezens weer normaal werden. Ook dit keer wist Ogel te ontsnappen. Alpha Team werd grondig veranderd. Het teamsymbool veranderde, personages Crunch en Cam werden vervangen door Diamond Tooth respectievelijk Arrow en de rode haak van Ogel werd blauw. Ook kreeg Alpha Team meer technische hulpmiddelen. Zo kunnen ze hun voertuigen in 'Alpha mode' zetten, hiermee veranderen de voertuigen van vorm zonder al te veel te hoeven ombouwen. Dit keer bestond het plan van Ogel er niet uit om wezens te veranderen zoals in de voorgaande jaren, maar om de wereld te beschadigen. Hij wilde de wereld laten bevriezen vanuit zijn basis in Antarctica met ijsorbs. Later bleek dat hij ook de tijd wilde laten bevriezen. IJsorbs zijn totaal verschillend van de eerdere orbs. Zij veranderen niet langer wezens door middel van hersenspoelen of mutatie. In plaats daarvan bevriezen ze alles wat ze aanraken. Alpha Team ontdekte de basis van Ogel en begonnen tegen hem te vechten waarbij bijna alle leden van Alpha Team werden bevroren.
Zed, een lid van Alpha Team, bereikte pas rond dit moment de basis en bevrijdde de overige teamleden. Terwijl de overige leden de drones aanpakten ging Zed in gevecht met Ogel. In het LEGO magazine werd aan fans gevraagd om verhalen in te sturen over het gevecht van Zed met Ogel. Het tijdschrift publiceerde geen enkel verhaal, maar aangenomen werd dat Zed het gevecht heeft gewonnen en de wereld weer normaal was. Karakters die extra zijn in World Freeze: Een Evil Orb is het belangrijkste wapen van Ogel, er zijn drie soorten: Ogel heeft verschillende bases gehad: Ogel heeft verschillende bases in de vorm van LEGO-bouwdozen. Al zijn bases zijn voorzien van een groot doodshoofd. Het verhaal van Alpha Team is grotendeels verteld door middel van computerspellen. Zo is er in 2000 een spel uitgegeven waarin agent Dash de andere Alpha Teamleden moest bevrijden uit de handen van Ogel en de productie van mind control orbs moest afbreken. De bevrijdde agenten konden ook worden gebruikt.
Dit spel werd ontwikkeld voor LEGO media door spelontwikkelaar Digital Domain. De werktitel van het spel was "LEGO Logic" en het team werd nog "TILT (Trans-International Lego Team)" genoemd. Ook zijn er verschillende online-spellen uitgebracht die gebruik maakten van Macromedia Flash.
