Zip Bolt UT Rail Bolt The ZIPBOLT UT - RAILBOLT uses the same boring configuration for bolts commonly used in the industry, with a very big difference. The use of a one-piece totally integrated gear system that replaces the old nut and washer. Assembly that simplifies joining parts together using common bits and drivers. Using a 5mm hex head driver, the installer no longer is trying to fit a nut and wrench into a 1" hole.

The hex is inserted into any adjustable torque drill, and makes tightening the gear head easy. Any 5 mm-allen wrench, or "T" handle can be used to tighten the gear. I finished replacing 25 storm windows in a bungalow style home with the Larson Gold series storm windows. They cost more than their other storms, but I felt they were worth it. The frames are much stronger and the bottom locks so it's hard to get them open from the outside (probably not an issue, but worth noting). The install was not that complicated, probably a local handyman would do just fine. The bungalow used to leak air like a sieve and the place was always draft. The storm windows keep out the rain, wind and cold very well and they seem to work well with lowering noise, which is an unintended but very helpful bonus.

I can't really speak to energy savings, but it certainly won't hurt! Frank - Homeowner - from 2012 I bought Indow Windows in 2010, just about the time they started selling their storms. We bought an old home that needed storm windows or replacements and we looked at Larson storms, but ended up going with the Indow inserts. They seemed like a very interesting concept and I was impressed with how well the company handled everything. The installer who came out was very professional. He measured everything and put the bid together and it was more than the Larson storms, but I felt like they were a better overall concept and visually they didn't make a big impact, which was key because we wanted to keep the look of the windows. The installation was very easy, it took three hours do the whole house. Pretty much stopped drafts from coming in and also condensation into the house. The next year we purchased more, which was nice because we could do it piecemeal and didn't have to do it in one fell swoop.

Daniel - Homeowner - from 2012 6 standard sized Marvin Ultimate pricing was $10,200 on , which I believe is their best window. The quote is also for two fiberglass door and two impact doors. I'm trying to figure out if this is reasonable or not, it does include the cost of painting and is a full frame replacement. Don - Homeowner - from 2011 That certainly doesn't sound out of line, especially since it includes two doors, which can be very expensive. You may want to get a bid from Larson and ProVia, both of whom make very good entry and storm doors. They should be much much less expensive than the Marvin Ultimate Clad, but equal quality for the most part. Melvin - Contractor - from 2011 We ordered Seaway storm windows from the local distributor (not sure if he's the only one or not) for our home. Our windows are big, maybe 36" by 60" and we paid $225 per storm window, which included the custom color and installation. The company actually sent us a metal sample of the frame with the color before we ordered it to make sure it matched up with what we had.
