The air compressor pressure switch is a safeguard to ensure the machine’s own safety, preventing it from becoming overloaded. Situated on the side of the air compressor, the pressure switch is initiated by a pressure sensor located inside the unit, which monitors internal pressure levels and informs the switch when it has reached a predetermined level. Once you have verified the efficacy of the pressure switch, power on the air compressor and allow it to operate for a short time. Ensure correct operation by using the pressure gauge to assess if the pressure within the machine is in a normal range; if this is observed to be above average, then it is likely that there is an issue with the pressure switch and may need replacing.
