This item is free :) We simply don't have the space anymore.Anyone who’s ever been to the IKEA store or visited the IKEA website knows that many of their products are wonderful; they also know that some of them are a little weird. Here are 20 products currently on sale that we chose because we either love them, or are confounded by them. For other things we love for the home, check out our roundup of 15 yellow home accents and 19 gold pillows for under $50. IKEA PS 2014 Wardrobe: Weird Is it a cage for a design-savvy wild animal? Some new kind of pull-up bar machine? This is a the PS 2014 Wardrobe ($199) that you can custom-tailor by adding little colored pieces of plastic in any pattern you choose. Here’s a close up of how you do it: Maryd Tray Table: Wonderful This new Maryd tray table ($69.99) is great–both functional and pretty. It also comes in gray (it’s a pale dove gray) and a light pink (more like blush). Is it a microphone? A robotic friend for kids?

No, it’s a Fryebo table lamp. Also comes in white and turquoise. We think this blue Fjalla box would be great for a home office. It costs $10.99 and also comes in a pretty off-white with brown detailing, and an espresso brown. Lattjo Snail Hat: Weird This Lattjo snail hat ($9.99) must be left over from a Halloween costume, right? This a year-round tool! The IKEA website says: “Encourages role play which helps children to develop social skills by imitating grown-ups and inventing their own roles.” What grownups wear snail hats on a routine basis? Here’s another one, the Lattjo brain hat: This Strandkrypa duvet cover and pillowcases hold the same enchantment as old botanical books. And you can’t beat the price: $29.99 for full/queen; twin and king also available. What are these things on the Onskedrom ($49.99) rug? We don’t know, and we’re not sure we want to be staring at it under our feet for years to come. We’re not even sure if IKEA knows what they are.

All the description on their website says is, “The thick pile dampens sound and provides a soft surface to walk on. Durable, stain resistant and easy to care for since the rug is made of synthetic fibers.” The colors of this Halsa steel vacuum flask ($6.99) are as pretty as fresh grass. We also love the red-and-white version: We’re still not sold on this idea, even on this Onskedrom cushion ($5.99). Maybe they’re pickup sticks… These Hemsmak Tins add a little bit of glam to any kitchen counter or pantry shelf. They’re only 6 inches tall and cost a mere $2.49 each. They also come in other shapes and sizes. We can’t figure out how you’re supposed to get on this PS Gullholmen rocking chair ($69.99), let alone rock on it! But it will probably end up in some design museum some day. IKEA says this Silkeborg rug is “unique since it’s created from patches of old traditional handmade Turkish rugs. The old patches are washed, re-dyed and stitched together to a new and modern piece of art.”

The size is 5′-7″ x 7-’10 inches (240×170 cm) and the price is $699. Benzy Land Cushion: Wonderful This 20×20-inch Benzy Land cushion is only $12.99. It’s made of ramie, has different patterns on each side so it’s reversible, and it has a button so you can remove the cover to clean it. Since we’re travel fanatics here at Patch of Earth, the map motif appeals. Weird and Wonderful Lighting Fixtures IKEA specializes in lighting fixtures that are so weird, they’re wonderful. They sometimes give off very little light (weird), but tend to function more as lit sculptures (wonderful). Here are a few of our favorites: IKEA says this Fado table lamp ($24.99) “gives a soft mood light.” The Kajuta table lamp ($9.99) is designed to throw a decorative light pattern on the ceiling and walls. It also comes in white, two shades of blue, and pink. The PS 2014 pendant lamp ($79.99) reminds us of dresses from the 1970s. This one is white and copper.
