BUT, I've recently come across some embellishments and modifications to the inexpensive stool which make it much more appealing. See if you agree... The colors of the Mammut stools ($7.99) tend to change. Recently they were white, green and yellow. Currently they are white, dark blue and dark pink. Nataliya of Style-ing with Children is also not a fan of the Mammut series ("It makes me think of the Flintstones, and not in a good way.") but she bought three stools to pair with Lack tables and for about $64, created this cute workspace (top photo) for her daughter and friends. She upped the ante on the stools with a dipped-effect using gold paint. Here, on Cafe blog, spray paint transforms a green Mammut stool into a white and pink one. Georgia of Home Made Productions used paint to transform the Mammut into a mushroom for her daughters' woodland-themed bedroom. Mushrooms and Mammuts just go together! Instead of painting, Jenny of Mint in the Middle created simple toadstool covers for her stools.
Using Jenny's pattern (above) Pups Pups made these sweet fruit-themed Mammut covers. Ann Guy made the Mammut more comfortable with padded cushions covered with waterproof laminated cotton. Cecilie of Hvadbiertaenker crocheted a beautiful cover for her Mammut. avsusanne covered hers with pom poms! Amanda of Design Loves Detail made a sweet lamb from a Mammut stool.
