Read More about 5 Iconic ChairsOur outdoor dining table went kaput this year. It was cheap, but we thought it would last longer than four years. The wood went rotten, and one of the extensions wobbled right off. There’s a reason you’ve been seeing an increase in tablecloth usage outdoors lately. Yesterday, I convinced a hesitant husband to pack up the kids with me and head to IKEA for a replacement. We were successful, as evidenced by the car being partitioned by a very large box. I chose this table. It’s slightly smaller than our previous table, but there are no moving parts on it and I’m hopeful that it will hold up better. It already has a gray stain so it looks a smidge weathered, but I don’t want the dang thing to actually weather and fall apart the way the other did. Perhaps a winter storage cover is in order. Or a coat of paint. Or some sort of actual maintenance from us. (To be fair, the other table did call for restaining/sealing, and we never did it.) I’ll have more photos later this week.

They have to as customers usually will only find defects in their products when they have been completely assembled.I have included a link to their return policy, but I have both returned items to IKEA fully assembled, as well as I have seen such items being returned.

There were some issues with the drawers. As long as you have the receipt you can get a refund.Return policy - IKEAThere was just one time that we bought a piece of furniture from IKEA, assembled it at homme, and then realized that I did not measure the space correctly, and that there was no way for us to use it. So we brought it back and explained our predicament, and they were kind enough to take it back. (Hopefully someone else bought it, since there was nothing wrong with it.) I could not blame IKEA if they had refused this return, but this time they were extra nice to us and took it back.Without reading their returns policy, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes.At the IKEA I go to, there is a fairly large room where discounted furniture is offered.
All of the furniture there is assembled and not always in perfect condition. I can't imagine where the inventory would have come from, if not from returns by customers. I'd simply call ahead to verify they'll take it back already assembled, before lugging it down there.Official policy states that IKEA will accept returns up to a year after purchase (as long as family card was swiped at the till, otherwise 3 months) as long as the product is in resalable condition, including packaging. If packaging is damaged or incomplete a 30% fine is normally applied.
