Apple Betas
You can download any of these configuration profiles and update your device Over-The-Air (without iTunes). Developer betas are among Apple's initial, buggier releases. Public betas are meant for anyone who likes to help Apple iron out any bugs. If you are not a developer, it is advised to run a public beta rather than a developer beta.
Keep in mind that things may be broken, you may lose on-device data and your battery life may be impacted. So backup everything you don't want to lose and archive your last iDevice backup of a stable install in iTunes so it won't be overwritten. Beware that you might not be able to restore backups of beta software after downgrading.
If you have upgraded to iOS x+1 beta and you wish to return to iOS x, you must downgrade to the newest stable first. Scroll to the bottom for instructions.
Developer Betas
This section will be updated with direct links to beta profiles and betas of major versions.
iOS
There is no iOS 13 profile: alternative.
Open the iOS 12 Profile [Mirror 1 | Mirror 2] link in Safari. Reload the page if the Settings app doesn't open! Restart Safari if that doesn't help.
To return to stable iOS 12, simply restore your device.
macOS
macOS 10.15 Profile [Mirror] | [Beta Access]
tvOS
tvOS 13 Profile [Mirror] | [Installing a profile]
Also used for NOOTA purposes, however it adds the useless beta Feedback app.
watchOS
Also known as the NOOTA profile. Install it on your device to prevent OTA-updates.
Apple Public Betas
You can freely sign up for Apple's Public Beta Program and then download:
- iOS [Guide] [Direct link]
- macOS [Guide] [Direct link Access Utility] [Direct MAS link]
- Safari Technology Preview
- tvOS [Guide]
Note: iOS 13 Public Beta 1 is equal to iOS 13 Developer Beta 2, etcetera.
Downgrade to Stable
You can downgrade from a beta to any stable firmware version Apple still signs for your device. You will need the latest version of iTunes to downgrade.
- From iOS 12/13 beta: Restore to the latest stable iOS 12
- From macOS beta: Simply restore a Time Machine Backup
- From tvOS beta: Simply restore with iTunes
If you somehow can't get into Recovery Mode or if you screw things up, you can try these solutions. After downgrading your Mac or iDevice, you can safely restore a backup from an older iOS version. Restoring backups made while you were using a beta might not be possible after downgrading.
