If you are an avid outdoor adventure-seeker like I am, then you know that after hiking or biking for several hours, it’s nice to sit down for a lunch, power bar or protein break. If you are high in the mountains, it can be a little rough to try and find a comfortable seat to sit down and relax. With that, I highly recommend the Outdoor Chairs by Helinox. These chairs are durable for outdoor camping or hiking, lightweight (only approximately 2 lbs), which makes them easy to carry in a backpack, but are big enough to sit in. Whether you are camping or hiking, don’t embark on your adventure without your Helinox Outdoor Chair.

Load Capacity – 320lb/ 145kg.The Helinox Chair One and Table One, distributed in the United States by Big Agnes, adds a little extra comfort and convenience without much extra weight.Weighing just 2 pounds, Chair One folds into a small 14-inch x 4-inch x 5-inch carrying case. It may be light, but it’s also strong and comfortable, especially with the breathable mesh integrated into the durable nylon fabric. The anodized aluminum poles are the same technology Helinox uses in its tent and trekking poles. I’ve used it on both a camping trip, as well as hanging out on the sidelines of a local marathon. Helinox Table One Fabric/Polyester.Folding camp table.

Sets up quickly and easily.Single shock corded pole structure.Storage sack with zipper closure and grab handles.Table One is made of the same material, and the mesh is used for two cup holders in the center of the table. But even if you place your beverages on the flat surface, they won’t fall over unless you help them along. The table rolls up into a 16-inch x 4-inch x 4-inch case and uses the same poles as the chair does. If you’re thinking that you don’t want to pack along a table, its 1-pound, 5-ounce weight might sway you. While Chair One and Table One are great for camping, they’re also perfect for urban picnics and backyard barbecues. Why save them for just one excursion per year? The Big Agnes Helinox Chair One comes in black, red, green, multicam (camo), tactical tan, tactical gray and tactical black. The first three colors list for $89.95 and the multicam and tactical colors list for $99.95, all on the Big Agnes website. The chair is also available on Amazon for cheaper. The Big Agnes Helinox Table One is available in black on the Big Agnes website for $89.95.

The table is also available on Amazon for the same price. Helinox Ground Chair Sets up quickly and easily.Breathable mesh on back and sides.Storage sack with daisy chain included.Packed Size: 12.2″ x 5.9″ x 5.9″/ 31 x 15 x 15cm. Capacity: 210kg / 265lb.If you ask me, comfort while backpacking and camping is worth a few ounces. With the Helinox ground chair, that’s all you’ll have to sacrifice for the most comfortable camp chair I’ve experienced.Lighter than even the famed Chair One I reviewed above, the Helinox weighs in at 1.2 pounds and folds down to a fourth of the size of your standard camp chair, fitting into its own bag.At first glance, setting up the chair looks daunting: when you open the bag, the various ‘limbs’ of the Helinox pop out at you in all directions. But trust me, it’s far easier to assemble than it looks. The Helinox frame is comprised of a single piece (though it breaks down much like folded tent poles) and once free of its carry bag, it pops into place nearly on its own.

You simple fit the various poles into place (again, much like a tent) and you have your framework in place. The mesh and fabric seat portion fits over the frame with four reinforced end pockets. My first time setting it up, I spent about three minutes sorting out the shape. Now, I’m happy to report I can easily set up the Helinox in about 20 seconds. How’s that for a learning curve? The Helinox durable seat fabric includes mesh panels to allow air flow for a very breathable chair. The fabric resists snags, tears, and even fire pit sparks nicely. The chair sits very low to the ground, so is best for people without mobility or back problems (translation: my grandparents would have had a hard time getting in and out), and leans fairly far back. I equate the position as similar to sitting upright in a hammock.Due to its low stance, the Helinox has come in handy for me not only while backpacking, but while at outdoor concerts and sporting events. It fits into a regular-sized tote bag for city festivals, concerts, picnics, and other events.

It’s very handy to have at the ready instead of larger folding chairs I need to carry in a bag on my shoulder. There are other lightweight ground chairs out there, and we happen to own a few of them. The Helinox is at the higher end of the price range, so it’s worth noting the difference.Construction of all my ground chairs are similar, as is quality. However, in a hand-to-hand competition with my own hands serving as a scale, the Helinox is lightest. We’re only talking a few ounces here, but for the backpackers and other outdoors-enthusiasts out there, that ounce may be worth $20 or so.For the backpackers, the packed size of the Helinox is 12.2″ x 5.9″ x 5.9″, and the weight capacity is 265 pounds. The Helinox Ground Chair retails for $129, but can be bought directly for $97 (mid-June). Check prices for the Helinox on Amazon or on Big Agnes. Helinox Sunset Chair Nylon.Sets up quickly and easily.Unless you’re a kid, sitting on the ground takes a toll. It may feel good to lounge in the springtime grass as the weather warms up and you remember all about picnics, music festivals, camping spots, or merely hanging out with the neighbors in the yard.

But do all that while sitting squarely on the ground, and you’re not quite taking advantage of comfortable, portable outdoor gear. The lightweight Helinox Sunset Chair weighs just 3 pounds and its single shock corded pole structure allows you to assemble or take it apart quickly and stash it in the included storage sack. The chair’s polyester fabric is comfortable and doesn’t stick to your skin in hot temperatures. There are also mesh vent areas on the chair—mid-back and hips—so when the summer comes, you get a little breathability with your chair. While camp chairs are often designed to be lightweight and easily folding, many of them lack longer legs, meaning you have to squat low just to sit in them. After a day of hiking, sometimes my knees are creaky, and I’ve found that the Helinox Sunset Chair with its longer legs is easier to get into and out of than those lower chairs.Another benefit of the taller chair is that if you pull it next to the breakfast/lunch/dinner table, it sits you at about regular eating height, instead of letting you juggle everything in your lap.
