We want something that is no taller than 66". The unit I purchased was made for a shower without a tub. We have just a curb. I didn't see this particular product available in a tub size. One of the rollers is making a grinding noise. Is there a suggestion on how to eliminate the grinding noise? We apologize for the issue with the roller on your shower enclosure. FIrst, you want to make sure that the roller is tightly secured on the door and straight on the structural rail. If the roller is straight, you may have a defective roller, in which you can contact Vigo Tech Support at 866-591-7792, opt 2. They can issue a parts order for a new roller under warranty. DO THE 2 ENDS OF THE TOP BAR NEED TO BE SECURED IN A WALL STUD to hold up the door?
Yes you would want structural rail secured to a stud to hold the weight of the glass. My shower opening is 54", will this door work and how big would the the opening be? For a 54" opening, you would need the 56" model VG6041STCL5674. This model is for openings of 52" - 56". With your opening size, your total door opening would be about 21 in. for getting in/out the shower. could not find the perfect size for my 63" width bathtub, could we custom order? and how much would that be. 63" is a tough size to accommodate with one of our sliding door units. Unfortunately, Vigo does not custom make shower enclosures on a one by one basis. The 72" unit is going to be too big. There will be way to much of an overlap and the door will only be able to open so much. My suggestion would be to build the walls out an inch and a half on each side and get the opening down to fit the 60" unit. What are the door seals made of (soft or hard plastic) and can I get a photo or link to see it?
the U-channel that attaches to the glass is a hard plastic. As for the bubble end of the side seal strip and the flange on the door side seal strip, these are soft. Each glass panel would have one of each of the seal strips attaching to both sides of the glass. What exactly does be sure to cut the railing on the door side mean. Door will be on left. The structural rail is going to be a little less than 60". If your opening is less than 60", the rail will need to be cut to size to fit your opening. The rail must be cut on the side the door will attach to. Reason being, the other side has the fixed panel holders, which are placed to exact size to fit the holes in the glass. If you have any further questions or confusion, please feel free to contact Vigo technical support. I am planning to install the doors on a narrow (3") curb. This can be installed on your shower base. The curb of the base needs to be a minimum of 2 3/4" in depth from front to back.
