Kickass have studied the solar panels available on the Australian market and used this research to develop the ultimate portable solar panel. With the solar panel market becoming increasingly competitive, almost all of the panels on the market are built as cheaply as possible and there is only one way to do that which is reduce the cost of the materials used.

KickAss Panels may not be the absolute cheapest you will find in the market but we firmly believe that people are waking up to the fact that buying cheap products that fall apart and fail to do the job they were purchased to perform is not a bargain after all. KickAss Panels come fully regulated so they will never overcharge your batteries and are delivered ready to go; simply open, plug in and collect free power from the sun! So what is the difference you may ask…. A 5 Year Warranty on the frame and fittings, and a 30 day money back guarantee! Battery Status & Charge Indication extends the lifespan of the battery corrosion-resistant aluminium frame with stainless steel fittings The absolute toughest solar panel carry bag availableYKK zips, durable vinylstrongest stitchingaccessory pocket What Cables & Adaptors are Included the Package: 5 x Metres of double insulated twin core cabling is included with a 50 amp heavy duty Anderson connector.

This is plenty of cabling for you to be able to position your panels in the best sunny spot. (A 5.5 Metre Extension Lead is available as an upgrade) 1x  Anderson to Alligator Clips Adapter is included to connect directly to your battery terminals. 1 x Anderson to Male Cigarette Lighter Plug Adapter (Add these to your order by selecting it in the Buying Options section above) 1. The Digital Watt Meter to suit Kick Ass Solar Panels This simple yet extremely handy device gives a digital display of exactly how much charge your panels are actually producing. The meter itself comes with Anderson connectors fitted on either side of the device so installation is as simple as connecting some plugs! It can be set to measure energy (Watt hours), charge (Amp hours), power (Watts), current (Amps) or voltage (Volts). Requiring only 7mA to operate, the wattmeter will not noticeably affect the performance of your panels. Light and compact, the unit is encased in a tough plastic housing and backed with a 1 Year Warranty.

2. The 5.5 Metre Anderson to Anderson Extension Lead All KickAss Portable Solar Panels come complete with a 5 Metre Lead which is often all that you need. However, we highly recommend adding one of the 5.5 Metre Anderson Extension leads to your order as they come in extremely handy when you have your camp set up in the shade and you need to get your solar panels out into the full sun. The extension leads are super heavy duty 6mm Automotive Cable. The solar cells used in Kickass Solar Panels are backed with a 25 year warranty and guaranteed to perform 10 years at 90% efficiency and 25 years at 80% efficiency. All other components included in the package are covered by a comprehensive 5 year warranty. Will hail damage my solar panel? Small hail will not be a problem.  Large hail stones may cause damage.  All glass used in solar panels is toughened & factory tested. Will dirty glass on my solar panel reduce power it creates?Keep the glass area of your solar panel as clean as possible.  All dirty marks of films on the glass surface will reduce its efficiency.  Keep it free from bird and bat droppings as they may permanently mark the glass surface.  Clean with a moist soft cloth.

What can I run with my solar panel? Appliances are run from your battery connected to your solar panel, not from the panel directly.  How much power your solar panel generates back into your battery on a daily basis, depends on a the size solar panel you have and the amount of sunlight the panel is exposed to.  If you want to ensure that your appliances will run continuously from your battery and solar panel setup, you must make sure that the overall power being generated is more than the power being consumed by your appliances. I have my own Regulator, can I bypass the controller on the panel?Simply disconnect the plug between the controller and the black box on the back of the solar panel. Connect your charging lead directly to the small black box on the back of the solar panel. (Remember, this power will not be regulated and should not be connected directly to a battery without first going through a regulator) Will my panel work in cloudy weather? You solar panel can still generate electricity in cloudy conditions but output will be diminished depending on conditions.

Where do I face my panel for optimal power generation? Place your solar panel in full sun perpendicular to the direction of the sun rays. If you are not able to move your panels throughout the day, the best option is to place your panels facing North at about a 45% angle. How do I check my panels are Working? Set up as above. First unplug the panel output Anderson plug to the regulator and connect it to the source end of your Watt meter. It should show 12 to 20 volts. If that is fine reconnect the panels to the regulator. Connect the source end of the Wat meter to the regulator and the other end to a cable to the load - the battery needing to be charged. Please note you cannot measure amps and Watts without a load, and if you plug the watt meter to the regulator you will get no readings at all unless there is a load connected. If the battery is already full you will not be able to evaluate your panels as the battery will not be drawing much if any power. Unpacking and setting up your panel:

1.     Kickass Solar Panels are essentially plug and play. 2.     Remove your panel from the carry bag. 3.     Unclip the latches that hold the panel closed then fold out the legs (adjusting the nylon leg strap to achieve desired angle). 4.     Place your panel on a reasonably flat surface facing towards the sun. Connecting the panel to your 12V batteries: Included with your panel is a small bag with a 5m connecting cable and a range of adaptors. 1.     Connect the 5m connecting cable to the solar regulator, which you will find fitted the the leg of the panel. (the connecting cable is complete with an Anderson plug which is a common 12V connection) 2.     If the Anderson plug is not suitable for your application, you can attach either the included Alligator Clip Adaptor or Male                         Cigarette Lighter Plug Adapter to the Anderson plug on the end of the connecting cable. 3.     Once you have selected the desired connection type, go ahead and connect the panel to your battery.
