Girls Education is paramount to the development of any nation.

save the children

If we just glance at the demographics of our nation, India is one of the most populated countries. However, the rate of girl education is low within the country and is quite troubling to ascertain these dwindling statistics and data, where women are given the status of goddesses. Though the data has significantly improved over the years, we have a long way to go. For several years now, the importance of girls education has been identified as the simplest solution to reversing the relentless trend of poverty and disease devastating large portions of our nation. Not only does ensuring access to education for women directly improve the feasibility of a developed nation, but it also propels economic, social, and civic growth.

There are various determinants that make it impossible for women to be educated. Firstly, the poverty rate is alarming; even though education is made free, it still involves a considerable cost to send girls to high school. Therefore, families who struggle to meet ends fail to pay the tutorial expenses of their children. Secondly, in rural areas, there are not many transportation facilities; this creates a problem as schools are located far away from the villages. In some areas, students walk for 3-4 hours to get to school. Moreover, the regressive reasoning of people makes it tougher for women to get an education. Some people still believe girls are meant to remain in the domestic setting.

If we wish to ascertain India progress and development, the importance of girls education must take precedence. Once girls become educated, our country’s future is going to be brighter and better. Similarly, our economy will grow faster if more and more women become financially strong thereby reducing poverty and dependency.

Additionally, women who are educated are able to care for their children and enable them to live a healthy lifestyle. Most significantly, educated girls result in a decrease in social issues like corruption, child marriage, domestic abuse, female foeticide, infanticide, and more. Not only does the girl child benefit from education, but the whole nation also does.

One educated woman can bring a lot of change in her life and others around her.

Imagine what an entire population of educated girl children can do.
