Continuous Blinking Green Light on Wall Garage Door Opener A green light on the wall mount of my Craftsman garage door opener continuously flashes and the door neither opens nor closes. Intermittently, the car remotes will work. As suggested in some posts, I've tried pressing the lock button for a few seconds with no response. Any suggestions before I call the repair company? did you check the floor sensors by the garage door to make sure they are aligned? Thanks for your response. The sensors at the bottom of the door show one with a yellow light and one is green. Should both be green? I tried to get the one with the yellow light to show green, but no luck. Installation was simple and the opener works perfectly now. My sensor was loose and point out..and tighten and got fixed.. Depend on the type of opener you have.
However, the best way to check to make sure you're not spending unnecessary money. There's a button to the right of the garage door opener (this is the one attached inside your garage), press the one to the right (the one that you lock the garage). You will notice the light on the opener will stop blinking (there's a steady green light). After that, check to see if this unlock the wireless device inside your vehicle. unit is in lock mode-hold down the lock button for 5 seconds and it should go to steady green light and work correctly- no button on the side of wall mount light. This worked for me. My garage door was working fine but the light was blinking on the wall. The sensors were fine. It didn't work the first time, but after 2-3 times this worked and got rid of the annoying blinking!Had to do with the "learn" button on the motor, and pressing one remote, resulting in both car and remote working again and the blinking stopped. Thanks for your input. BTW I had a similar issue where none of the car remotes would work and there was a continuous green blink on in garage button.
Turns out someone pressed the "lock" button as someone earlier suggested. Pressing it again took it out of lock mode. Hope that helps others in the future Thanks...that worked for me and the opener works fine again. This solved my issue. I didn't even know that I could lock it. Thanks so very much I have tried just about everything done here, except replace control console. Tried the lock button, no change. Any other suggestions pls?That worked for me. I have my manual, and have not found any reference to solve that problem. Took 10 seconds after reading this. I didn't know about lock button and lost manual. Pushed the smaller button on wall switch which has a small picture of lock. The blinking green light went solid green. sweet, easy fix with holding down the lock button...it's been driving me nuts for a month!!!This worked for me also We were experiencing this exact problem: blinking green light on control (wall) switch and car controls no longer worked.
I confirmed the sensors by garage door: one was green and the other yellow. Pressed lock switch on wall controller and held down for 5 seconds and now solid (no flashing) green light and car controllers work. Sears Craftsman garage door openers have an important safety feature that prevents the door from closing when something or someone is in the way. This safety reversing sensor is actually a pair of electric eyes that generate and receive a light signal that must remain unbroken for the door to operate.
If it's interrupted while the door is closing, the door reverses and a safety light on the opener flashes 10 times. The Safety Sensors The installation instructions for a Craftsman door opener call for installing the sensors 6 inches above the floor, and you can mount them to the floor, the wall or the door track with the brackets provided. If they are properly aligned, both sensors display a steady light; the one on the receiving sensor is green and the one on the sending sensor is orange. If something is in the path of the beam or the sensors are misaligned, it's typically the green light on the receiving sensor that flashes. When the orange light on the sending sensor flashes or stays off, it usually indicates a loose wiring connection. Stuff in the Way The most common cause of sensor malfunction is also the easiest to remedy: Something is blocking the beam. It may be a garden tool or something left behind by children, such as a wagon or beach ball. If your garage door has been in place long enough, enough dirt may have formed on the lenses to block the beam, or cobwebs might be in the way.
When this happens, the green light on the receiving sensor flashes or it stays off altogether. The orange light on the sending sensor will remain unaffected and be glowing steadily. Misalignment or Loose Wires The green indicator light on the receiving sensor also flashes or fails to illuminate when the sensor is out of alignment with the sending sensor. You can often restore alignment without tools; simply loosen the wing nut holding the sending sensor to its galvanized steel mounting bracket and adjust its orientation until the green light on the receiving sensor glows steadily, then tighten the nut. If the orange indicator light on the sending sensor is off, it usually indicates a bad electrical connection. Check the connection to the sensor and follow the wire all the way to the terminal on the back of the opener. You might find a staple or nail cutting through the wire insulation. Light Interference Some sensors temporarily malfunction at certain times of the day, and the problem is related to the angle of the sun.
