Fps Boost - Choosing the proper Technique

Fps Boost - Choosing the proper Technique

Testing at malding has shown us that Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost is taking the game up to 4K - 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X. The news is a sweet treat to us next gen owners as well as future owners since it keeps making the Xbox Series X|S more affordable with the pass of days.

The Xbox Series S is not as stunning, delivering us 900p - at 30 FPS, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost update and since the game isn't receiving optimization for Xbox Series X|S update, which would bring its resolution on this game to the Xbox Series S to a greater level since it's running of the Xbox One S settings, nevertheless, it is a welcomed upgrade that is free in case we don't get an optimized version for Xbox Series X|S upgrade or remaster in the future.

The Xbox One X has the same game settings that are available on that of the Xbox Series X which are Higher Resolution and Performance mode. Both for the Xbox Series X are giving us 60 FPS and the performance mode giving 1080p. This is a mode I do not recommend using unless you absolutely need 60 FPS, or you don't have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to compensate for those flaws.

Personally, I don't think too much about it because I do own a VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) television, however, even if I didn't, I wouldn't be concerned about it since the game doesn't drop the FPS often , and this is not a competitive game so the drops aren't really that significant.

As a side note, VRR wouldn't be enough to be sufficient if it fell below 50 FPS often since VRR could mask drops from 60 FPS to 50 FPS but not lower than that or else it would not be able to make a difference, and yet the drops are rare.

There will not be any graphic updates as it's an improvement behind the scenes in FPS only. I tested the loading and nothing seemed to change.

As a side note, I bought this game in a sale, but I did not play it until it became available through the Xbox Game Pass which made me feel stupid for not waiting. I got over it though because it ended with me leaving it. I like to own my games as often as I can apart from the Microsoft first party games since they will be in the Xbox Game Pass indefinitely cause Microsoft owns the studio.

I'm telling you this for the reason that I want to invite you to go through my guide to earn free Xbox Game Pass thru the Microsoft Rewards Program:
