The Strongback Elite is definitely a much more comfortable folding chair and in a design class all by itself. This is the first, of the newer fold-up design, that actually has metal armrests integrated into the frame.
They are metal with a flat surface and topped with dense foam, covered in heavy duty vinyl. The seat back has a very strong lumbar support. It's the anti-sling chair, for sure. Maybe a little to strong at first. I think that will smooth out a little as the heavy vinyl stretches. This chair also sits higher, more like a kitchen chair @ 18" off the ground. It's Big, 22" wide seat and the space between armrests is 24". Folded up in the carring bag, it's 45" long! So, it's not as portable and takes up more ground space, obviously. It weighs about 12 lbs, so it could become heavy if carried a long distance, although, the carrying bag handles that velcro together, are long enought that most people could carry it backpack style. The frame is held together with mostly rivets except the weight bearing areas, which are screws and tension nuts. All the vinyl is heavy duty, that should hold up well, but isn't very breathable. Might be hot after a while on a steamy day.Over all, This is a Fantastic Folding Chair, although a little Pricy @ almost $80.00!
If I buy another, I might consider this one, also sold through Amazon.
